I have had my tig for about a week now and I'm starting to get the stainless figured out.

Razors from left to right in the order I welded them (far left I burnt through my first try).

Yes it is. I have a tig and I can fuse metal well but have not gotten to the making it pretty also stage. You are definitely on your way.

It is a used transformer type Lincoln Precision 225 tig. I welded the blades with 12 amps and a very sharp tungsten I also pulsed the pedal very rapidly to try and maintain the arc.

Looking good.....dab filler rod in the leading edge of the puddle. Are you using a foot amp control?

I have a Thermal Arc suitcase, it's purple. It's digital and will stick weld also though I have never done that with it.

I hear that the Thermal Arc is a great machine.

I have about 8 hours seat time so my aluminum needs more practice but I did make a few promising passes on an old motorcycle radiator.

Purchased a Miller and have about 2 hours on it. Realized it's way above my skill level.
Been paying a local shop to weeks a few small things. Lol
Very nice work!

You should give it another shot. There are some good youtube videos on tig welding. I think "welding tips and tricks" has the most helpful videos on youtube.

If you decide to get rid of it send me a note Jerryl. If nothing else I can help you figure out how to use. I'm a little rusty but I can still lay down a decent bead.;)

Day two for aluminum. Made a few passes on some 3/16 plate.

Check out your local community college. Many have great welding programs and may offer a TIG only class. ( I took a TIG class at my college when I bought my first machine). It may cost you a little bit to get into the class, but using their metal, rod and argon is awesome!! Lots of seat time an you will be welding a stack of dimes like nobody's business!!

The two best machine I have ever bought are my TIG welder and my Bridgeport mill . They are both challenging, but fun to learn. I am by no means an expert on either, but they both help me make some cool stuff!!

Good Luck and have fun!!
