I was helping a friend diagnose a problem on a basically stock 84 TR. I grabbed my GM Tech 1 and tried to read the data stream in the "Open" mode and the tool would not read the data. I could read data in the "10K" mode. I could not read trouble codes either.
Anybody have any experience with Tech 1 (using the mass storage cartridge) and this year car? Is the Tech 1 capable of reading data in the Open mode on this car?
I usually use the tool on 86-87 cars and never had this problem.
