I tried to honor John's request to keep things on topic. Unfortunately, my name keeps being brought back into it.
I have NEVER denied my belief Ted hurt his engine as a result of an XFI failure. When this happened we were using beta flash updates that no one else had. Ted was aware of this and told me that "none of this was my fault". At the time, I was pretty convinced it was a bad Flash update that hurt Ted's engine. I discussed this with Ted and Lance to try and figure out what happened. Lance sent me a new Flash to replace the one I thought was corrupted and asked me to destroy the old one in case it was bad (which I did).
Ted asked me to help him get some compensation for his broken engine or he was going to go public. I asked him what he wanted, he said 10 XFI systems

I passed this information on to FAST and they said they wanted to see the ECU. Ted was reluctant to do this and things appeared to be at a stalemate. As time progressed, Ted began to get more frustrated and started blaming me for not doing enough. After enough time passed, Ted took the ecu to FAST (he lives relatively close) and Lance determined it to be a bad ecu and not the flash.
FWIW: Ted bought his XFI from someone else and I never charged him a dime for tuning his car. I did this out of friendship.
You should inform the customer of the dangers of using a flash that was sent out the night before a event. You never stated we should check timing as you have stated in public that should be done and certainly never told me that there is no guarantee's the car will run the same as before. With this in the back of my mind I am certain I wouldn't have needed it explained in stick figures when I broke the beams that I should have lifted.
According to you FAST laughed when two systems were asked for (I would question if you ever even asked), the ten went down to two when I realized that I should eat some of the bill because the extent of the damage wasn't helped out my my decision. This is why I finished up my studies at the time to confirm what the box was doing. Like I told you it is my box not theirs and they will be given it when the time is right.
Why did you not send me this new flash Lance sent you?

That is a good one. You couldn't even do that for me?

Lance told me at FAST it wasn't the flash, yet you are here stating it could be the flash. Now maybe you get it why I don't trust you and you know something you are not telling us.
As far as a corrupt file, the flash has a checksum that the ecu confirms when loaded into it. If it doesn't confirm it won't run period. Not possible to have a corrupt file run according to Lance. I wonder if the guy that owns the other car that day believes that his box didn't confirm or that was a quick extinguish of another piece of evidence.
It is hard for me to believe that you haven't re-created or why you haven't the problem at some time with this flash and have already proven to yourself it was just that. That is why you keep pointing that way.
As Sully said, you have the tools and had the tools at your disposal to finish this up. If it was FAST then you did nothing wrong but install a flash that was sent to you by a engineer. I can relate this this situation, but that would incriminate Lance direct and I don't think you could do that, or you just made a honest mistake and Lance covered your a$$ for you. This could have been handled privately as severing a friendship and business relationship with you was not my intent, but unlike you I stand up for what is right and I was wronged.
Please answer these questions direct.
1. Was it the ECU or the Flash?
2. Was the wrong Flash sent to you/Otto?
3. Did you forward the flash to Otto's e-mail or did Lance send it to him direct on separate e-mail?
4. Please send me the beta flash #37 you told me you still had back after I went to FAST and Lance told you to destroy it.
I think the above requests are not unreasonable considering I am asking you for no compensation/or ever and I think you do hold accountability and so do others for what went down that day.
