The car is stock EXCEPT for these mods...

I have,

TA33 turbo, actually suppost to be a little bigger since a ta60 was used to build it, ported intake, ported turbo to intake adapter, fuel pressure regulator, 36lb blue top injectors, alky injection, 86-87 ecm, and IM guessing the boost will be ok around 20psi?, upgraded fuel pump, hot wire harness, and a thrasher 92 chip.

Good enough for low to mid 12's with proper tuning and good traction. But givin the impatience of Hot Air owners probably 13's. Hot Airs are'nt as forgiving with a bad tune as the intercooled cars.

Well, this is my project car, so i want it to run perfect. Are the rear ends, and trannys very strong on these cars?

The rear ends are very strong, usually good into the tens. The transmissions unfortunately aren't as strong. They hold up pretty well considering the torque they have to handle i suppose, but aren't nearly as strong as say a turbo 400. With that said, they can be built to handle quite a bit.

hmm i doubt low twelves on 20psi without headwork and some exhaust mods. just my opinion.

Sorry for missing the 20 psi part, but your right with unported heads you will probably need more like 24-28 psi and good gas. But you could make it easy into the 13's on 20 psi.

With alky injection, couldnt you push it to about 25psi on 93 octane and get into the 12's?

Hey big dog

These are the same issues I came to when putting mine together. Just take the heads off and port them yourself. You dont need bigger valves. This 200/200 cam I have will really wake it up as well, but that takes a little more tearing down.

If you bring your heads to me I will port them cheap. It takes a while but I like doing it. I would also change out your valve springs (100lb)and seals while you have it apart, helps with higher rpms. Im not a pro, but learned from some very skilled guys.

Shoot me an email and see what you think. Or if you need some more advice or help.

hey matt. I just got the intake on last night. I had to order some things for it. But, I was thinking about porting the heads while the intake was off, but just figured i would wait until later.

Thats cool. It will still run good.

If you have your headers off, bring them up here, and we can look them over to see if they have any cracks. If so I can weld them up for you. If they are leaking, then that will rob tons of power.

The next parts I would consider, if you want to get to the low 12s, are a good cam, port your heads w new springs. Look for a set of poston headers, I like them better than the ATRs, and a single shot 3in exhaust.

I'll let you have the 200/200 cam and lifters for 70.00. The same cam setup went 11.40s on my buddys IC car, with a weaker turbo than you have. It has 100 miles on it as well.

Also, if you want an electric fan setup to get some room, and free up some ponies, you can have my old one and the adjustable thermostat for 30.00 (Just how much I have in the thermostat). I can also help you hook it up (Its easy).

Just some ideas, trying to get some stuff out of my garage. shoot me an email.

hmmmmm, the cam only has 100 miles on it huh? Is it very lopey? I might take all of this as well. let me think it over, and ill hit ya up.

No, rush. Yea the cam is huge over stock, but still has good idle qualities.

The fan is not the cleanest setup but it works very well.

Email me anytime bro
