Pretty sure I've messed something up. I've been dealing with this for about a year. Some weeks it doesn't bother me and other times it's just downright painful. Even lifting an impact gun puts me in pain. Anyone dealing with this?

I have an elbow and shoulder that give me problems sometimes. Went to the Dr. about it once and he ended up pulling on my thumb, index finger, and middle finger which popped my wrist and the elbow pain went away almost instantly. Guess my wrist had jambed up and pinched some nerves.

Dr. says I have 'tennis elbow'. Quite painful at times. Neither rest nor cortisone shots worked. MRI revealed small tear in tendon. Tear
not big enough for surgery. As far as the pain goes, Doc says "Eat it"!. I guess he just watched Platoon.
So as far as your pain goes - "Eat it" - or go to the Doctors and get a 'professional' opinion.

Had it about a year ago. Pretty painful. Our nurse at work gave me a strap that goes around the forearm and it didn't seem to help much. It took about 6-8 months for it to go away. It hurt to pick up just about anything.

I had it in both elbows, at separate times. Both lasted 1 year. The worst part is as soon as my right felt 100%, the left got it. Still don't know what I did. This has been a good 5 years, no problems since.

I had it in the past from too many pull ups. Recently, started again from stupid heavy kettlebells. I have the chiro mess with it when I'm there for an adjustment. In fact, I was there yesterday. Arm feels much better. I'd say 90%. (still a little twinge but better than before.)

I dealt with it for 10 years on and off when weightlifting. Loading up on ibuprofen will help a lot. The first time you notice it you should use ice on the affected areas. Once it's a chronic problem you need anti-inflammatory and heat. It's best to find out what is causing it and stop doing that movement.

Its usually pulling. Hurts the worst if I extend my arm and lift straight up. For some reason it seems to help if do a lot of pushing with it especially pushups. It doesn't get a chance at healing because every time it starts feeling better I forget about it and start using it again. Working industrial maintenance definitely isn't helping.

Bison I'll try some ice on it and see if that helps but imbsure its past that. Hell ifni even bump it wrong on the side it hurts a bit but nothing like it does at the end of a bad weeK. I couldn't imagine lifting weights with it at this point on top of lifting heavy stuff all day at work

I've had it off and on since my early twenties, sometimes one side, sometimes the other and sometimes both sides.

I tried everything. Shots, surgery, ice, heat, physical therapy, you name it.

I discovered this about 6 years ago when a woman who works where I do heard me snivelling about it.

She said "Have professional masseuse massage your forearm in the little "V" between the muscles on top, believe me you'll know when they are on the spot that's causing the pain."

Have them dig in on it real good for about ten minutes. It'll hurt like hell but in the morning you'll be thanking that person. Yeah, you can try the wife/GF route for the massage, but they will quickly grow tried of it.

Anymore, I just go to Massage Envy at the first twinge of it and pay $65-75 for someone to just maul my arm, shoulder and back on the side that's starting to act up. It usually fixes me up for about a year and a half.

If you're like me and sleep with your arm extended upward under the pillow and your head, buy a good quality wrist brace and when the pain starts to come on, wear it when you're sleeping. You'd be amazed at how badly you can hurt yourself when your sleeping.

I use kinesiology tape and it helps tremendously.
The strongest tape I have found is from a company called "Strength Tape" there are plenty of video's on how to tape up "tennis elbow" Need to get some alcohol and wipe the arm down so its not greasy.. and don't put your fingers on the tape surface or it will peel up. Takes some getting use too.. lasts 3-5 days and then redo it. massage, anti-inflammatory meds, tape, repeat..
The strength tape holds up very well to showering and such. getting the glue off your arm is another story.. baby oil or if you want something quick WD40
KT Tape doesn't stick to me to well.. just an FYI in case you see that on the shelf at sports authority.. where to buy.. Ebay and amazon

I have the same issue; Guy is spot on with the wrist brace. It will really help with the tennis elbow/carpal tunnel issues. You really can hurt yourself when you are sleeping!

Yeah I sleep in the same position with my arm under my pillow. That can't be helping much.

ice, ibu's, massage, and believe it or not, exercise. very, very light weight to drive blood and nutrients into the affected area. dealt with it off an on, mainly on the left side.

I have had it in both arms for twenty years. Went in for Cortizone shot when I first had issue and they did my right arm first when they asked for my left arm, I told them they were lucky they did my right arm first because I would have been swinging. That shit was painful. Now my shoulders are acting up and I am an equipment mechanic so I just deal with it

Look into acupuncture and physio therapy. Stay away from meds as much as possible. Bandaiding a problem won't make it better. Your body only knows how to break down natural things. Meds are full of chemicals and other harmful stuff that can cause long term problems down the road. If you get hooked on them, eventually your dosage increases as your body gets used to them and they lose their effect to numb the pain. Then you will be eating them like Smarties and need something stronger. Worst path you can ever take.
Make sure you are getting a decent nights rest. 7 to 8 hours a night is essential for the body to heal/repair itself. The older you get, the more critical sleep becomes.

Also pay attention to how you are on the computers. I started getting this numbness in my elbow all of a sudden for a while and couldn't figure out where or why. I noticed it more after I lifted weights/pull ups but I really think my problem was sitting in this position on the computer alllll the time, every day for extended periods (hours) looking on the sites and playing chess till late. I started paying attention that my elbow was being on the edge of the table all the time and & honestly think that's where mine has came from. I try to change positions, i still need a better chair tho at the computer. I got a Ipad mini tablet & can surf quicker on it than the home computer and hope this helps alot. So guys IFF you stay on the computer everyday like I do. Pay close attention to your form, position, posture etc. I stay off from so much and it seems to be helping alot. It fades like two or three days. And I think that helps me and I've found my problem. hth.:nurse:
