i'm not trying to say i know all the answers but i work for one of the "have not" teams. I see first hand how it affects a market like ours. Our managment had to lay off 10 employees because we can field a team anyone wants to see. Half of our opening day lineup in in the playoffs now. Our best player is in SD. You can't see past the pin stripes, if you could you would know what i mean.

Also the real fans should have blacked both of his eyes, busted his lip and broken

his nose!

It's not just a natural reaction to reach out and try to catch a ball thats in play

when the outfielder is hussling to try and catch it, and he would have.

That's idiotic! You should be ashamed of yourself for saying that.

Anyways...Dusty blew this series. He left Prior in too long last night, and Wood in too long tonight. Prior should have come out after Castillo's at bat in the 8th. After the Moises/fan pitch, Prior came back and threw the next pitch to Castillo to the backstop for ball 4 and then it really fell apart. Farnsworth or Borowski should have been brought in right then and there. Prior was obviously too rattled after that play.
Then tonight Wood was done in the 5th. He had nothing left and the Marlins where hammering pitch after pitch. Dusty leaves him in and the doesn't pull him until the 6th when it's too late.
Last fall the SF papers and Giants fans were saying that Dusty would kill us with how long he'd stick with the starting pitching...
Guess they were right. :(

That's not right at all. I gave the bonehead Cub fan a lot of grief in the other baseball thread going on here. Basically he was a dumbass that didn't use his head, as were the other dimwits around him that were also trying to catch the ball. I think the beer shower he received on the way out was as much punishment as he deserved. To advocate busting the guy's face up......well I just can't see that.

All Cubs are dorks!

I think the real dumb ass fans are the one's who are blaming that "foul ball guy" for the Cubs' loss. Let's face it... no one got on base or scored directly from that incident, and at the time, the Cubs were leading 3-0! All they had to do was get 2 more out for the inning and 5 more outs for the game. If you really want to stretch it, this "foul ball guy" can only be blamed for 1 run. That still leaves the score 3-1. Who gets credit for the other 7 runs that the Marlins scored in that fateful 8th?

I'm glad the Marlins finished off the job tonight!

well we know the 4 horse of the apocolyps are not coming now.

that is a relief, to me atleast!

i CANNOT believe they blew it again...oh my god

that team is literally cursed...they will never win again...how could a team be so dominate winning 3 in a row and then just MELTDOWN...only the cubs i swear...

both chicago teams melted down this year...the sox had the division all wrapped up until mid september and then lost almost every game...it really sucks to be a fan of a professional team in chicago...the only team that has done ANYTHING was the Bulls from 91-98...the bears have sucked for almost 2 decades...the cubs well we all know the story there...the blackhawks haven't won anything...it's been a long time for the white sox as well...ok i will stop ranting:(

I was hoping for that fan's sake that the Cubs were going to win. That poor guy is in for a lot of grief. If they won, he would have been off the hook. It's not his fault they lost the series but some people will not look at it that way.

do you also believe in the tooth fairy and the easter bunny??? There is no curse. Before you have a pity party remember the Buffalo Bills.

You have to see yourself as a winner before you can be a winner. They have an identity crisis. They are perceived as losers and thus live up to all the expectations their fans have, always waiting for the other shoe to drop and end their season.

you nailed it mark... that is sooo true, i deal with hundreds of athletes a year and to be a winner you must first belive you are a winner, its one thing to have talent its an other thing to use effective mental skills with *will* your self to a win.

that is soo true. i think most youth athletes in america are lacking in the mental skills to be truely dominate in a sport. it take a special coach to bring that out in an athlete.
