The Grove will be open on Wed. November the 8th from 3-8pm because of the 63 degree weather expected. (yes its posted on their website)So far I have 4 cars committed and maybe a fifth and sixth. Might be the last chance for our part of the country before the snow hits. Hope to see a ton of turbo cars there.

I saw six turbo cars. Had fun watchin them from the stands. I hope they all post some info they did.

Just got the car off the trailer.

Im beat but it was worth it. First pass of the trailer I was hoping to clean up my sloppy 60 ft times since I installed the HR parts anti sway bar and drag shocks, and sure enough the car dug to 1.54 60 ft. and went a new best11.07 at 122mph. Thats .4 faster than last time out simply because of a better 60 ft. I let my buddy make the second pass and he went 11.17 at 123, then the 3rd pass confirmed a transmission flare I felt on that first pass between 1st and 2nd and then again between 2nd and 3rd. :frown: . I was hoping to get into the 10s buy turning up the boost to 21 pounds but it wasnt a good idea with a transmission issue. My buddys T-type ran an 11.08 best and The GN powered CTS was having traction issues and attention issues because my 11.07 pass was against him for bragging rights in his shop. Not only did I out E.T. him but I drilled him on the tree with a .009 to his .629. His e.t was only 11.69 on that pass. Funny thing was this is the same guy who said he was gonna let his wife drive his car and beat me:eek: . Maybe he should have let her drive it afterall!;)

The super clean Black GS right?

We'll be there with the GS.......

That car is absolutely beautiful. And fast too, 12.00s right? I didnt see it but I heard someone say that. They were all commenting about a woman driving. Nice job.

Sorry to hear about the trans. Good runs though! Who was the guy with the sliver turbo t? I saw a charcoal one there too. I like that burgandy GN. do all of those guys post here??

Thanks.....Its her car so if she wants to drive what choice do I have.......

She went 12.41 @ 108.1 off the trailer, leaving it in drive shifting itself at 4500, usually picks up a tenth and a half if you shift it at 5500. Its a 100% stock appearing, pump gas, 4200 lbs car.........:)

Brer,
Too bad about the trans. Didn't Jimmy do that trans for you recently? Let is know what turns out with the trans.

Trans..

Yes he did, but I talked to him today and he said bring him the car Friday. Hes gonna pull it out and fix it, and I should have it back mid next week. Im pretty sure that what happened was my fault. I was up front and straight with Jimmy so Im hoping that it works out financially. I learned the 200s dont like 3/4 throttle blasts, and I was doing that when the car wasnt tuned right because the Knock alarm kept going off. Also the cable may have not been adjusted properly. I know one thing for sure..when he takes it apart, he will know exactly what happened.

Great run last night Gary, Pm me if you get that trans fixed and are coming out again. I wanna be there when you crack into the 10's:D . After seeing you guys out there last night makes me wish I woulda fixed mine instead of pushing it off to the side and say (I got all winter to fix it). But next year will be a different story as I know I'll be there.

who were these guys,

I never saw the silver car, and I never saw the grey car anywhere but parked in the pits. The Burgundy car belongs to my buddy Mark. Funny thing is he called me around 4 pm yesterday telling me that his car is crawling. The MPH was only 116-117. I told him the tuner was on the way and to just park the car untill he got there. Sure enough the tuner made some adjustments and the car responded with a best E.T of 11.08 somewhere around 122 mph. Mark doesnt post on here but hes always reading the posts.

Oh yeah ...

And a special thanx to those who run stock computers;) No really thanx Nick, I would have blown the motor up long ago if I still had that old school DFI.

Just happy to see you figured out how to tune with the BS3! Now I think you need to head out to the barn and help me finish my car up. So I can get to the track this weekend. I finally got the rest of my parts in,and got the new DP and external WG on. Now I will be able to run more than 14# of boost!

Mark may know of the Silver Turbo T (Six Shooter) He seem to be having traction problems. I have seen them both at a local TR guy from Park Ridge. I'm glad to see you guys liking the big stuff 3. I guess i have to jump from the old school DFI to the in the spring. Will I have a problem because I have a TH-400 and digital dash? Speedo is like 20 mph too high for some reason.

You know what thats some BS, I have the same problem with my Jimmys built trans. Mabye 4000 miles on it. My third gear is roached and its because the trans flairs from shifting too early. That seems to be the one problem with Jimmys tranmisions. He gave me the same 3/4 pedal story. Other people I've talked too don't have this problem. Just with Jimmys.

Well I think there is some truth to it. I have seen Jimmy’s trans that were build about three to four years ago with about 300+ pass on them. When he took the pan down the clutches looked as though it was brand new. This was not just in one car but several cars. The only common factor in all these cars were; they were 99% track cars. From talking to all the major tranny builders, they also told me the same thing that Jimmy said. When you make a half throttle pass or constantly make the car down shift from third gear and up shift it back to the third gear again in matter of seconds without the TV cable pulled all the way down for full line pressure, the clutches will not get enough fluid and therefore, it will burn the clutches out in the small third gear drum. You know our cars with good mods will make 20 psi boost on half throttle. Jimmy is working on a special drum to eliminate this problem so that he can get more third gear clutches in to avoid this issue.

From what I was told, in order to get full line pressure all the time regardless of full throttle or not is go with a manual valve body where you have to shift manually at all times. That means you have to go to a TH400 or the computer controlled big bucks 4L80E tranny where the computer can control the line pressure.

Another thing, Jimmy told me the other day that switching to synthetic fluid is good for 20 degrees!
