I bought a new one today. I go to pick it up is an hour. It isn't fast by any standard but it is a nice car. It will be nice to be going from a gas guzzling Hemi Jeep Commander to a gas sipper. The Commander is awesome but the gas tank or peanut shell of a gas tank drains way too fast. A suv that size should have a larger tank.

Congrats! You're right it's not very fast, but it is a very good handling car and it will corner like it's on rails. The build quality is also very good. I sat inside a loaded 2.0 Turbo model and I was impressed with the fit and finish and just the overall quality of the car. It blows the Regals of the past away in terms of quality and comfort. Enjoy your new ride!

It isn't very fast yet! How long do you think you could leave it unmolested and not turn up the boost add alky, etc..... It's got a turbo so that means there is way more in it than what left the factory floor.

congrats! i test drove a cxl turbo just last tuesday. it's a very sharp car - i want one! the cxl didn't have the variable suspension, but the standard tuning is not as isolated as i like - but not harsh. would you say the tour mode is plush?

it's basically an LNF from the solstice. it's a few bolt-ons from 300 hp and a turbo away from 500 hp. i bet it'd sound awesome with a cat back exhaust :)

I thought they were on the small side . Needed a bigger car so we are getting the new Lacrosse.

Dan,

Are you going to wait for the GS version?

Nope !! Car is for my Mother in law. She had a Lucerne an loved it. The Lacrosse is replacing the Lucerne next year. Looked at the Regal turbo. "Cute" car but I want something there if ya crash it :biggrin: Not many of the Regal turbos around here. Saw a few in Florida last month though.

The LaCrosse GS is going to have the TT 3.0 V6 and AWD...
Sorry for the hijack.

OK back to the original thread .. What color did ya get ??

if its the same turbo as the LNF solstice/cobalt then Precision already has a turbo upgrade for it.

I think you mean MKS.

I love the looks of the new Regal and the interior is very nice as well, but damn....$40K for a fairly small sedan (by the time you put the good stuff on it)? If I were going to drop $40K on a new sedan, the 2012 Acura TL looks like a pretty good bang for the buck.

Congrats on the new car though, I hear the handling is very impressive!

It is grey. I wanted black but the boss/wife said no. If you think I bought one that was 40k you are nuts. I got the base model pretty much. Has a bunch more features than the GN. They come standard with a ton of goodies. Heated leather, XM and more. The thing I like is I can finally pass a gas station. That 06 Commander with it's Hemi and peanut shell tank went from pump to pump. We took a little ride today and I was doing 55 and getting between 35 and 40 mpg. The jeep would have to coast down the Rockies to get that. The kids love the 120 volt outlet in the backseat. Hey, whatever keeps the kids happy in the car makes me very happy!

Oh it does corner a lot better than the GN. I kind of like these corner things I have always heard of.

Good luck with the new purchase. I may just look at one in the near future, perhaps a 6 speed manual!
