And here is the question with clues:

Name the one car model, that I am referring to that only offered a turbo option for exactly one year.
it is a factory car from the factory
Made less than 1,200
was not made in germany-france-italy
before 1995
after 1975
One new minor clue car I am thinking of was marketed in the USA
One of the options for this car was a black out kit which would be similar to what we have in our Turbo Buicks
before we head down every Chrysler car produced none will be the correct answer
answer it is a car that everyone 99% of you will know maybe not with that option but a car that is known
Another clue on the looong running trivia question:

the car model is more than 6 letters and less than 12 letters long

I personally have never seen one....so even though they made just under 1,200 car must have had an early death.....

From the amount of wrong answers I doubt many of you have ever laid eyes on one either.

The company that made the car is still in business.....the model I am seeking is not produced anymore.

Prize Value $25 Post #811
New Prize Value (5/17/09) $125!

friday nite bringing everyone up to speed:

First, still no winners on the long running question. 54rich has been gracious enough to keep all the facts & figures as accurate as possible.

I will now increase the prize value to: $150 value.

I have in my collection full 3 -page magazine article on the answer to this question. For a magazine to alot that much space car must have meant something to someone.

I hate to give any more clues for fear I will give away the answer. Car was a 4 cylinder. This is my last clue for awhile.....

See next post for other trivia question info.

With all the guesses how many car models remain not guessed? If nothing else when the answer is revealed you will be able to stump almost any turbo expert that thinks they know it all.

On the 2 options that were not offered ever in the 1984-1987 Turbo Regals. They can be found in other GM vehicles. They are interior related. I have sold them in the past.

One has been guessed the low fuel.

Here is a little help on the other as technically it probably was not a stand alone option. I sold it in kit form meaning more than one part was involved. I never had them brand new only used to sell.

They really gave the interior a nice touch.

With those clues we should have our $15 winner rather quickly so I can move on.

You gotta member, while you guys participate in the turbo regal world on a part time basis....I have been doing it steady 4-6 hours a day since 1987, granted I play off my memory a lot but I find it fun and I hope you as readers of this thread do likewise.

Today marks 2 fill l months this thread has been operating....and interest is as high as ever.

Member if you have not already post your trunk ID label....

Backtracking to the winner at 50 trunk ID codes. I did hear from Bill the owner and his prizes have been sent. As it turns out Bill has won one of our M & M contests that we do every event and have conducted at the RC event last fall.

Turns out the original owner ordered the car that way back in 1986 and had to sell it almost as soon as he had picked it up.. BIll got it with a mere 1,700 miles on it!

He does have the ATR vacuum block on top of the plenum and ATR plug wires. ATR as many of you realize went bankrupt a few years back.

Bill says he did not realize how rare his car was until recently. As many of you know most owners focus on options. He does have the window sticker somewhere and thinks it was around 14 grand when new.

I don't believe it was that cheap when it was new unless it was discountd as I happen to have my sticker for my car with 52 codes same year same color. My car was $16,300. The engine package and T package add almost $1,900 to the invoice alone. Its weird on my sticker AC was another $775 when in fact you could not order a turbo regal car without it. Base price before all this was $11,562.00 on my window sticker.

Course today all these numbers seem cheap.

I was rather lucky as we leased our car and the payoff after 3 years was $5500 one of the few times where a lease car at the end of a lease was actually worth at the very least double the payoff amount.

I scored equally as well when we leased the Syclone after that....that payoff was $9500 and I sold it for $14,900. Course I have lost on other leases....can't roll the dice every time and win as many of you know.

Keep the guesses coming.....

Appreciate all the pm I get.....

I really wish I would've taken a pic of the RPO tag on my blue 87' before I sold it a few years ago. I remember it was $15,400 or close to it. It was straight bench seat, manual windows and locks, no tilt, radio delete, etc.
