Smokin 6 has hit the magic number (50) codes. Send me a pm with your full name & address and you will get $125 worth of prizes. Please answer in a post the following questions if you would:

I assume you realized you had a low optioned car. Did you realize how rare it is to see one with just 50 codes total?

Unusual circumstances when you bought it....did you get it form the original owner and if so why did he order it that way?

I will point out what I see in your codes and photos.....

starting with your engine shot:

no cruise notice the big gap between washer bottle and air filter.

You have my adjustable fuel regulator on the car.

Powermaster has the repro cardone brake bowl...

The vacuum block on top its not ours ours is not finned maybe caspers?

Plug wires are black may be red armstrongs or old atr wires? fit nicely....

Can't see clearly does your car have that long thin chrome across bottom of the outside? I notice the little block emblems on the pillars my car had them.

Now to look at your ID label

You got a posi...so rite away that tells us the readers if the car did not have that code (G80) would drop it to 49 possible.

You got code VK3 front license plate bracket if your car did not have that would drop code total to 48 so 48 codes would be possible.

You got VD6 and VD7 aluminum bumper braces....a good thing...

Can't see your radio but code is UM6 next to the best they had that year which is am/fm cassette with seek & scan auto reverse and clock feature.

UW4 concert sound which is an option if you did not have that feature another code less would drop count now to 47 possible...

llQ white body side mouldings which my car has also if you did not get that would drop another code meaning 46 codes is a possiblity.

Your car has no rear defogger so probably started out as a southern car....did you know where the car came from originally?

Besides no cruise, no 2 speed wipers, and the biggee no tilt column feature!

I am assuming you know most of your codes 4 codes refer to each coil spring front left front rite left rear rite rear, FE3 is a suspension code. GU6 and G87 rear to rear size etc and brake drums, PON is for Pontiac, AR9 is bucket seats, AO1 is tint, etc and so on...

You hit the number we were seeking and by looking at your codes we know 46 is the new low that is possible....but probably not going to happen.

So send me a pm for your prizes.....I knew 50 was out there....glad you came forward....

So, if you ever attend a Buick event....I think you can say without any uncertainity, you have the fewest codes of any turbo regal present.....took 2 months on this thread to find it!

My guess you car could have been out the door when new for around $15,800 or $16,200 in that area....

And here is the question with clues:

Name the one car model, that I am referring to that only offered a turbo option for exactly one year.
it is a factory car from the factory
Made less than 1,200
was not made in germany-france-italy
before 1995
after 1975
One new minor clue car I am thinking of was marketed in the USA
One of the options for this car was a black out kit which would be similar to what we have in our Turbo Buicks
before we head down every Chrysler car produced none will be the correct answer
answer it is a car that everyone 99% of you will know maybe not with that option but a car that is known:wink:

Just a reminder any that have not participated with their trunk ID label and wish to se it explained be sure to post it on this thread....may find out something interesting about it.....

also, no one has guessed the 1984 sunbird turbo dash was used in two other GM vehicles what where they? Its a very easy question when compared to the long running one.....its only worth $15 in prizes.....

kirbanperformance.com

denniskirban@yahoo.com

I guess no porsche owners out there...as I got a heck of question on those cars that I doubt any of them would know.....

1987 Pontiac Grand AM

1987 models brought more power to the base engine, and a new Turbocharged four cylinder engine taken from the Sunbird GT. The 2.0L turbo engine became the base engine for the SE model for 1987. This was also the last year that the Buick sourced 3.0L engine would be available in the Grand Am, as it was discontinued in mid-1987.

54rich your dash cluster answer is wrong, your pontiac grand am is wrong and the turbo corvette is wrong please add these to the list..

kirbanperformance.com

denniskirban@yahoo.com

also I will throw out the next buick trivia question tonite so I can proceed with explaining more unique options in these cars we own...

I also heard from the person with the magic 50 codes.....will explain later on him also....

will look at the latest trunk ID label posted above tonite also....

gotta do some lawn work first.....

still no winner on the one year turbo car.....wrong answers are approaching 50......wow.....

Syclone and Typhoon?

kirban 2 cents worth

Send me a pm with your full name & address you are the winner on the dash cluster being the same as the 1984 sunbird turbo car...'

Some of you may real we were very fortunate enough to own one of two of the original Syclones that GMC did for all their testing and the truck we bought direct from GMC was actually the one that was on the cover of car & driver sep 1991 issue against the Ferrari 348....

Ours had 9,000 miles on it and of course had been run hard....Picked it up direct from GMC headquarters....

My wife drove it as an every day vehicle for several years. Her license plate read ZRl KLR.....

Now just a memory...about 20 plus cars back for us...

I knew that was an easy question...

denniskirban@yahoo.com

New question coming since the other question is taking weeks to answer and I want to get on about options.....

losabres trunk ID label looks like 71 codes you got the lite weight bumper braces VD6 and VD7 which seem pretty popular, no vk3 code means your car originally sold in a state that did not require a front license plate, you got no rear defogger again I am assuming your car was originally sold down south.

You have the black out package also black door edge guards, if I am reading your paint code rite its a dark blue color....outside.

You have the next to the best radio UM6 and standard U66 rear speaker set up,
You have a fixed black antenna (good thing there),

You have power locks power windows, cruise, factory alarm UA6,

Nothing unusual in your codes....with no rear defogger and no front plate your car originally more than likely sold when new down south maybe the same state you currently live in assuming your state does not require front plates...

If your car is that blue with the black out package that is a great color combo....
As for number of codes you fall in the middle of the road with them....

New trivia contest: This one is Turbo Buick related and I need a correct answer so we can explore other options.....meaning some of you (us) may learn more about the cars.

Prize value $25

Open to anyone except Turbo Buick related employees..so past winners are eligible.

Clues:

I m thinking of 2 factory options that were NEVER available in our cars (1984-1987 Turbo Regals), yet companies like myself have sold to owners over the years.

These 2 options came in other GM models.

They are interior related.

You must post both guesses in the SAME POST.

Post as many different posts as you want.

You must pick the 2 options I am thinking of.

The clock is ticking.

I hope 54rich will make sure this contest stays on the current page and list the current wrong answers as this contest rolls a long.....

good luck
