Buick Skyhawk?

kirban 2 cents worth

what is this answer to? the dash cluster? assuming so, I am not sure, however doubt it since the sunbird was turbo charged don't believe skyhawk was?

Based on that the dash would not be the same as the sunbird turbo dash had a turbo boost guage in it....

good try....

it is a factory car from the factory
Made less than 1,200
was not made in germany-france-italy
before 1995
after 1975
One new minor clue car I am thinking of was marketed in the USA
One of the options for this car was a black out kit which would be similar to what we have in our Turbo Buicks
before we head down every Chrysler car produced none will be the correct answer.
the answer will be a car that 99% of the readers of this forum will be familar with:wink:

Although this guess is wrong....here is a quickee trivia question based on the answer given above.

What other GM vehicles used that same dash cluster?

Contest open to any readers except those in the Buick business.

Prize value? Make it $15.....

clock is ticking

I am going by memory on my answer but I am 99% certain I am correct. I think this should be guessed rather quickly.

I'm not sure if I am considered in the Buick business, I guess I am, so I withdraw my submission.

Bob

I know the dash cluster answer so I will let someone else get that one.

Here's my submission for the turbo quiz:
1980 Firebird Formula Turbo

54rich you can add this to the massive list of wrong answers.....wow....think this contest has lasted more than 8-10 days now and still going....

Not sure how many cars not guessed still exist but the odds are in someones favor they will get it rite.

I need to find more questions like this!

kirban 2 cents worth

Add the above wrong answers to the growing list 54rich....thanz.... Neither the Scoupe or Fiesta are correct....meaning the one I am seeking....

At what point do we start taking bets as to what day or month or what page on this thread, that someone "hits" the rite answer?

Meant to mention it before I did see at Bowling Green one super nice GN that had both hood shocks on upside down....every year I can find at least one that has the upside down.

The guy was surprised his body shop got it wrong on them.....

Few cars had the 3 relays on the drivers inner fender backwards....saw a few that had the heater/water valve upside down....(referring to the 1986-1987 models).

1990 Pontiac Grand Prix STE?
turobcharged intercooled 3.1 liter V6.. only around 1000 made.. tons of ASC parts..
not sure about the blackout option- but i think most GP's around that time had blacked out trim, anyways.

never mind my last post. me am no able to read list, it seams.

this seems too obvious, but i didn't see it on the list a few posts back..
87 Regal turbo T- it's the only year it wasn't called a T Type, and could be had with all the chrome trim or with everything blacked out.

1980 Toyota Supra (MK1)

Bunch of different models, but this one ran 79-81.

In 1980, the Japanese Mark I (also branded with the MA46 chassis code) was offered with a 145 hp (108 kW) 2 L (1988 cc, 121 cu in) 12-valve SOHC Turbocharged inline-6 engine (M-TEU). The engine was equipped with a Garrett T03 Turbo, but was not intercooled. This was the first Toyota engine to utilize a turbocharger.[5]

The changes for the 1980 US version were different, but mostly cosmetic. The interior received a redesigned center console and a digital quartz clock. On the exterior were redesigned side view mirrors, the 14x5.5 aluminum rims, which were optional in 1979, are now standard (the 1979s had steel rims with plastic wheel covers standard). In addition body molded mudflaps became available. On the copper metallic and white cars the mudflaps were painted the body color while the mudflaps were left black on all other colors. On the rear of the mudflaps, the word "Celica" was painted in white lettering.[6]

You might hold the holy grail in lowest number of codes...please post a clear shot, also photo of your interior, exterior and engine shot. If you indeed have 50 codes its worth $125 in prizes.....

kirbanperformance.com

denniskirban@yahoo.com

Rite now we are at 52 and 51 codes (my car has 52)......

I got it pretty stripped down. I just repainted it and had to paint the chrome grill black and I took off the hood ornament because the chrome was awful, t-type wheels getting restored.

Getting an earlier start tonite....

All the new above answers on the one year turbo car I am seeking are still wrong....Supra, lesabre, century, pontiac gran prix.....

So Mr 54Rich add them to your growing total which now numbers round 35 plus wrong answers....I am amazed....I can't wait to tell the answer it is a car that everyone 99% of you will know maybe not with that option but a car that is known.

I guess that is another clue....

I did not resarch the above answers to see if they were one year onyl examples only that it is not the one I have in mind. Supra I know is not correct as kid that worked for me had a tin turbo supra....made them several year very colelctible and very fast and desireable...especially manual shift ones...unless you are mentioning some rare model one.

The Lesabre and Century turbo cars....not wanting to hurt anyones feelings but not much desirability there......

So the history lesson continues....

Getting back to the main subject...of trunk ID numbers...

Such a nice day today drove my vette to work and happen to lookinthe glove box for something and looked at my label...intersting enough if you recall I said my Vette besides being a very rare fixed roof coupe only has 3 options.

The ID label has 11 rows 3 down for a total of just 33 codes...its ironic to me they end up even in rows and my turbo-t has 52 codes 11 rows 4 in each row again even rows....could never have sought out something like that weird...kinda like having your built date same month as your birthday which someone in this post stated maybe 8 pages back...

If I had time I join one of the Vette forms just to see how rare my Vette is with a mere 33 codes and only 3 listed options total. Most Vettes C5 at least most owners would get almost every option I would think...

Next post will look at the ID label mentioned above.
