If you are reading this thread and take time to post a photo of your trunk ID label blocking out your last several digits of your VIN #.....we can provide much of the info listed in your series of codes.
Getting back to the main topic we have covered seats, radios etc....that where available.
The trunk ID code for the optional power trunk release was A90. For 1984-85-86 it was a $40 option in 1987 it jumped to a $50 option.
This is probably one of the easiest options to install, and also one that most owners would use a lot. To me personally it seems strange GM mounted the push button for this on a small bracket that was mounted on the upper lip inside the glove box. By strange, I mean it is a long reach for a driver to operate it. Many cars today at least 3 that I own have it either on the dash by the driver or on the drives door panel.
Option is very easy to install, it is secured by one self taping style bolt that simply holds the trigger unit to the back of the latch assembly on your trunk lid. The wire harness runs down the drivers side trunk hinge following the route your trunk lite uses.
After you attach it to the one terminal on the release button the other side needs to go to the fuse box to a "hot" terminal that is hot when the car is off so no one accidentally pushes the release button while the car is running.
It makes more sense to me to mount the release button somewhere handy for the driver along the button lip area to the left or rite of the steering column.
This is one option that is pretty much the same for several years and can be found in many different G body models in a junk yard. You will find probably 95% of them will function perfectly. I am sure gbodyparts.com has them available and once in awhile we have them for sale as well.
Speaking about your trunk lid, here is another tip: With your trunk lid fully closed, see if you can still depress it slightly. If you can, open it again locate the small rubber bumpers in each of the back corners. Spin each of them 1-2 turns outward, reshut your trunk lid and depress it see if you still can move it downward.
If not, it is now probably adjusted and you have removed one more rattle from your Turbo Regal.
Another tip: if your car has a rear spoiler, over a period of time this traps alot of dirt.....trapped dirt holds moisture, moisture leads to rust and rust leads to holes.
Same holds true for that thin trim molding across the bottom lip. (GTOs had the same issues) Whenever possible blast that area with a high pressure water hose and you will see the dirt come out.
This holds true for owners of the Limited models with that wide stainless trim on them.
Got any questions/comments post them and I will do my best to answer them unless it concerns the trivia question!
