either chalk it up to a learning experience or keep on his ass to get you a new set of tires... or wait for him to buy some and then borrow them from him for a year...

some one offered to lend me tires at a track rental and i thanked them and rejected the offer. just as a responsible broke person (can't afford to replace them/cant afford to borrow them) should do.

On the other hand a good friend a stand up guy needed a set for his track rental. I offered to lend him my set of slicks and he too declined.

Maybe said this way. There qre two issues. getting a system mounted, getting a system tuned. The system mounted I can help. The system tuned.. i'm diesel dumb. So to spend money and not get a positive result.. thats where I dont know enough on that platform. Not saying it doesnt work.. when you dont know something.. best to admit it and go from there.
