I have a few questions. Just want to make sure i have this timing chain on right. I have the stock cam, engine is on #1. The instructions sent with the roll master i guess doesn't fit the tr. I have the cam gear on ,dot straight up. I am positive that is right. Now for the crank gear, one dot is straight up and the other dot is on the crank key( i think it has 9 key ways). that is my question. Do i have the crank gear right. Your replys are greatly appeciated....................thanks Bob

Bob, instructions should say something about which point on the crank gear is zero advance/retard and how to tell what the others correspond to how much advance or retard from zero.

Normally, the mark on the cam gear points straight down to the mark on the crank gear When cyl #1 is on top dead center

Assume you know the rollmaster double rollers should not be used with a stock tensioner and that they have a reputation for stretching quickly and have been suspected in causing false knock when they slap the cover?

there are 2 dots one is the dot to line up with the cam...the other dot is over the keyway

the keyway should be at the 1 oclock position at tdc.

the left dot lines up with the cam gear mark and the dot to the right should be over the keyway in the 1 oclock position.

I have found some stock cams its hard to get the cam bolts in and even had to die grind the bolt holes in the cam gear a lil to get the bolts in..the factory wasent very in speck :D

rollmaster

From my experience, the Rollmaster will stretch less then any other chain I have ever used. This includes Cloyes.

agree with Lee the rollmaster dont stretch like the other cast gear double rollers

rollmaster are billet gears and prestretched chain :)

like teve said dont use the tensioner

thanks Guys

Red, i have it just like you said. I couldn't get the cam gear on so i had to polish it out a little. It is still tight but i can get it on and off pretty good. I hope it doesn't stretch:( too much.....i will probably put 2k miles on it and be in it again cam, heads, etc etc...:D thanks again.............Bob
