looking for real low 11's, but also want some nice street performance. Was thinking a te62 ball bearing with around a 3400 stall. Would 55# injectors be enough? Does John Craig sell ball bearing? Is BB worth it? What other combos could get me to low 11's. Assume i will have some good bolt ons too, exaust,dp,alcohol, ported irons, trans + x, plus suspension and slicks.

I don't think JC does ball-bearing turbo's. You would proabbly have to go to Cotton's. 3400 stall probably would be too high for a BB turbo. Probably more like 2900-3000. Probably would want a decent IC to go with it, like a V4 or Front mount.

Jack Cotton knows as much as anyone on the BB turbos from several years of first-hand, frontline experience with them.

So, if I were you, calling Jack is where I'd start.

Super-honest, thoughtful, "real"...that's Jack.

HTH :)

yeah i was thinking a V4-R since most times it will be on the street. Where is a good place to get BB turbos. 3400 too much stall?

just saw a good price on a regular 62, how well would it spool with a 3400. Tire smoking or tire hazing?

I heard that a 3400 stall was great for a 54 turbo which is roughly equal to the 62.

How's that for hearsay? :)

Ball bearing model might let you get away with 3200 or 3000 stall.

Start with Jack C. on the ball bearing recommendations.

I already talked myself out of them and I'm going with a 61 and the 3K stall.

Good luck.

I'm only shooting for high 11's with Bosch 43's and alky. inj.

And of course excellent street manors. :)

The 3400 stall converter will work great with the 62 turbo and for low 11's 55lb injectors are plenty, but you might want to add a cam (a Billet roller cam is a good choice IMO) to the list and then there's the bottom end (some forged pistons would be nice, the stock turbo crank and rods will be fine, but if I were you I'd get some Billet steel center main caps and maybe a girdle just in case you plan on going faster later on down the line).... just some food for thought and also call John Craig and ask for his opinion on ball bearing turbos with our cars!!!:)
