Scott, anytime you can reduce reciprocating weight parts last longer & more power is available. I had a set of rods in the 350 TT project that I have been involved with forever. The engine held up very well with zero problems with the aluminum rods that were in it. I also noticed that the bearings were as new when ever I pulled it down for inspection. I attributed that to those rods & was impressed that when it came time to rebuild the engine. $1000.00 was invested in a set of GRP aluminum rods. I don't mean to disagree with any of the experts but I would call the manufacturer for their advise & go with that.

you guys are SO behind the times.

he building one 4 cyl and one 3 cyl. ( 3cyl like in a chev sprint)
rice is where its at.
with turbo for each cylinder .

scott didn't tell you guys? where working on a 3 cylinder prius motor hybrid turbo awd in a gt-four, alpine white on 16x10" rikens

jk ;)

You're ALL wrong...

It's a inline Volvo 5 cylinder:tongue: So, I've learned that if a steel rod breaks in an aluminum block windows appear.:D What happens if a aluminum rod breaks in a iron block? Any damage?

BTW - Thanks for the info Lou.

The only thing I can't ever remember is breaking a rod in a turbo engine. Everything else is another story .

if you want to get An** about it I see 7 Rods in the picture to be exact 6 in the box and the 1 on top. ;) he must have some sort of A51 SH** going on overthere.. :)

LOOK CLOSER. To the far left, the is the big end of the rods curve in the shadow. Then you can see the other 7 your "regular eye's" can see. My eyes are blue, yours are brown from all the doo doo coming out of your brain:D

good eyes, grasshopper (said in my best kung fu accent)

I don't see it, but then I don't see alot of stuff,
I do see a space where one should be.
volvo 5 cyl huh,? I claim BS!
its a mercedes 5 cyl, diesel conversion, with tripe turbos, and double intercoolers, with quad spark plugs per cyl,

its getting deep!

While Scott mumbles to himself, dang it! I should have just taken a picture of 4 rods. Dang it!
