What do you guys think? We have a 6 second door slammer now and an 8 second stock block. The recordbooks have been re-written in every class (I think) since the current cars have been posted. Does anybody think that any of these accomplishments deserve mention on the home page?

I couldn't agree more, nothing against the people there now, I'm just tired of seeing the same thing every time I bring up the home page!

This was dicussed like a year ago and nothing ever changes. There quite a few cars that deserve mention.

I think I replied to that previous post as well. I vote for an update.

I definately agree! It is what newcomers & non-buick people see when they visit the site. Keep this thread to the top & maybe it will get the attention it needs.

How about a poll.
Maybe by classes- fastest 109-fastest stage1- fastest stage2-fastest 4.1production-fastest alcky car-fastest E85.Maybe a hybrid car. These are just suggestions how,but about some more of them. Maybe they can be narrowed down to the amount that can be on the front page and then a vote

Bare minimum could be a pic of Nick's car doing an UN-goofy launch.:)

That car needs suspension.

That was my car back in 04-05 era.
It also went faster than that.
If I an still an outstanding member i may have a
new car to put there:rolleyes:

Guys the reason the page hasn't changed is the old code it is written in. We don't know anybody that knows it well enough to change it with possibly totally screwing it up:frown: Jay doesn't even like to have to change the vendors listed. We have talked about a million different ways to change but everything that is "updated" looks totally different. I know some of you software or page building guys can build a page very easily, the problem is intergrating it to VBB!

We hear you for sure, I want it changed worse than anyone...

Old code?!?!? It would take like 5 minutes to change that page. No reason to keep this "old code". Just make a new page from scratch. Like I said, 5 minutes worth of code, a few minutes for graphics and you can get rid of this "old code". I just read the code, and there is nothing special there. It was done in Frontpage 6.0 which is the most basic web software out there. Last time I started clicking through the vendors on the home page several were pointing to the wrong address.

JayC has the best VBB skills of anyone I have ever known. This is not VBB code. Like I said I know a page can be done in no time. It is integrating to the VBB forum page....

All the links should be working, which ones are not?

I think I speak for EVERYONE when I say that we can stand the board being down for little while if it means we get a pic of Nick's car launching straight.:D

whats intergrated about it? MSG BOARD is just a link to the forum.

Exactly, there is no VBB or integration to be done. Its a static web page, you click on the link and it either takes you to a vendor page or to the forums page. It is a very basic page!!!! Like I said, it was done in MICROSOFT FRONTPAGE 6.0. which is about as difficult as microsoft word. The hardest part would be putting the rotation banner stuff at the top, and that is nothing more than a couple of pull down menu clicks.

That looks like basic HTML to me, I could probably create a new page in a few hours and I'm a mainframe programmer with a tiny bit of web programming know how. The biggest time consumer would be getting the information for the linked pages that had info on each of the cars.

I hear you guys! I will talk to Jay about it again this weekend and see what we can do. Maybe if one of you guys know the code like you said we might be good to go:biggrin:
