Tinting Tail lights.....

Mine are tinted to match the car. :D The painter did all of my lenses with automotive paint of some sort, although I am not sure specifically what kind. I know it can be obtained at most any paint supply.

With scot w.'s digital sequential LEDs, the lights are very bright.

I actually have people stop and ask me where the lighting came from when they see the blinkers or brake lights in action.

Here's mine...the guy that tinted them used clear coat with some black paint mixed in. They turned out pretty good and I only spent $80 not counting what I paid for the extra set of tail lights. Good luck.

A few guys around here have tinted there lights by spraying them with a mix of 50% black and 50% clear coat. It looks very nice and its not too dull looking.

Just curious who has tinted tail lights and how did you do it. I know they make "nightshades" but that looks kindda cheesy if you ask me. I'm not taking mine to a bodyshop to have them done. I have the guns and I bought Jet black and Clear coat. Does anyone have any tips for making them look good? Do you spray the black base down first then clear, or can you mix the black with the clear and spray it on like that?

Here is the link to my post. Go to post#10 for the "how to".

I just tinted my taillights today. First I cleaned them. Then I sanded them with 1000 grit paper, wiped them off and applied the first coat of the VHT Night Shades. The reverse lights got a couple extra coats. Then I did another coat on the entire lense. I finished it by applying multiple coats of clear gloss and sanding between coats. I am happy with the results so far. I am looking forward to puting them back on the car and seeing the finished product.
