How much should I look to spend for a professional shop to tint my GN? What type of tint should I choose that doesn't fade? I know this question has been asked before but I'm just being lazy. Thanks

i had a local guy do all my windows at 20% for $150

2 years later and still looks new...pictures on my site below

Stick with a brand like Solar Guard, LLumar, SunTek window films and you will be fine and preferbally with the metal film type. Usually the non-reflective type (charcoal) will not have any metal inside making it not block the UV rays too good and will not block out heat as good as the better quality tints do. These non-metalic films will fade in time and turn to a purple-lish color in about 3-5 years.

Most of these major tint brands offer a lifetime warranty on their window films.

On the price of a tint job? It will determin on if there is existing tint on the car because of the removal charge. But if there is no tint allready on the car then I would say between $120-150. Anyways our cars are alot easier to tint because our windows are pretty much flat.

I paid $200 last summer to have the windows tinted on my 85GN.Unfortunately I don't have any new pic's since I had it done.I knew before I had it done that there wouldn't be any quality issues.'Snoop' at Tints R Us is the best in Maine,he's been doing it for 18 years.I saw 3 of my friends vehicles that Snoop did before I had mine done.A kid that I work with paid $350 at another place to tint his 98 monte for an ok job.If he would have drove the extra 1/2 hr to see Snoop,he would have saved $100 and got a much better job.

Should be less than $200 unless you want something odd done. I've had SUNGUARD tint on every vehicle I've ever driven daily and I know it will NEVER turn purple but it does start to get lighter after 4-5 years if it sits in the sun constantly. If your car sits in a garage even some of the time that makes a big difference on the life of the tint. Also don't use 3M tint it turns purple.

P.S. fill your back window with go-fast stickers then peel them off after 3 years, that makes it look gooooooooood ;) .
