What turbo do you have now that you are considering upgrading to a 76?

te45a, with a .63 and 60# injectors

Wow and you're wanting to upgrade to a 76?? Why not a 70 GTQ?? A proven 9 sec. turbo and I would think it would be easier to spool (disclaimer: I have never had a turbo bigger than a 67 so I don't know anything about a 76's street manners for myself)

ive had several 76'ers on street cars, and a 88 and 105 on race car.. the 76er will be fine.

What heads and cam? GN1's and a solid roller?

I presume a turbo 400 and a small converter.

Lastly, why would someone build a 9 sec capable motor and use graphite gaskets? Obviously it should have a steel crank, aftermarket rods, girdle, etc.. things that can handle 800+ HP

The combination sounded like a nice mid-upper 10 sec combo with a nice set of heads and a roller cam.

If its a turbonetics 76 turbo the 80s would probably be enough even without alky.I have yet eto see one put out even near the rated HP.
A precision 70HPQ is rated higher

NO CLUE! i was asking that myself.. the heads are o-ringed.. dont know why they wouldnt use copper. the car is a 10sec now.. i want to go into the 9s..

so this is what im doing.. i sent my turbo today to get upgraded and rebuilt.. im putting a .85 exhaust on it, and doing a full rebuild. im putting the upgraded tb and plenum on, and im thinking i may want to upgrade my injectors to 80s. what do you guys think?

I think cool...45a's are good turbos.

Just curious what fuel pump do you have to feed 80's??

Just FYI you should be able to theoretically max out your 45a with 60's since you have enough pump, but they would be getting close to maxed out as well.

Couldn't hurt better safe than sorry especially on the fuel side. A wise man once told me it's only money :D

BTW my figuring on you maxing out your 45a and 60's close to the same time was based on you NOT using alky...Should be able to max out your 45a with the 60 injectors still with a decent duty cycle if you retain the alky.

ya.. its only money..... and.. with that.. a little bit now will save A WHOLE FREAKIN LOT later.. the less than 400 for injectors and chip, will save 10k in motor..

:>

I added some stuff to my above post btw in case you didn't see it.
