I was looking at a alky set up on the site and the guy had a gray carpet like mat that fit on top of the core support molded right over hood latch and you could keep the tools you were using at the time on/in this to keep from rolling down between header panel and core support, anyone know of anything like this? its the first one i have seen but man someone was sure thinking!! Any info would be great thanx.

Yes, I definitely remember seeing this and thought it was a neat idea...but now, I can't seem to find it anymore...:frown:

core mat

I saw this on a thread by user name razor on hooking up his alky set up just yesterday in one of the picts. and contacted him and he replied it was the customer whose car he was working on, someone has had to have seen them somwhere for sale. If u go to alky set up posts you will see it in the second or third pict.

Kirbans was one of the vendors that sold that tool mat. Haven't seen it listed in a while though.

Mike is right. I bought mine from Kirbans.

I just went and looked at it but it doesn't list a manufacturer's name on it anywhere. You might want to call Dennis to see if they can still get them.

I remember :D …this is the Tool Mat that I designed and made several if not ten years ago…I tooled it up and made approximately 125 pcs and sold them to Dennis and I also sold them myself…..it did not sell like hot cakes and when I wanted to make additional parts the tooling had been thrown out without my authorization, do to a new owner of the manufacturing company. I also though it was a go idea and considered paying the money to create new tooling but the quantities I would need to produce make it nearly impossible…thanks for appreciating one of the parts I really liked myself. Maybe someone will sell a used one ….

Hey thanks for the kirban referance i will be calling them tomorrow i will let you know the out come.Eric

I say people who are interested in one should add there name to this thread so maybe the vendors will take notice and maybe reproduce one

guess we will just have to keep voiceing our op and hope it gets heard but i would for sure purchase one! Im tired of tools slideing down and falling to the ground during modifaction work!

Buy a floor mat the right size & cut in half & its close to that pic. I just use a fender cover & it sits there nicely.
