Go to the shop and tell him that YOU want to test drive it or something, then don't take it back to the shop. The tranny's already toast. Bottom line is he has your car. That is by far the biggest risk. You HAVE to get your car back. Once you have your car back, then work on getting your money.

Better to have your car and be out $600 then to be without your car AND $600.

i dont think it even goes anywhere. Off topic in a way, does anyone know the length of the TV cable that goes from the throttle body to the trans? I have one that is 37" but i think its for an 86 regal with the 200, please any input is appreciated...

Just drove it home, Shifts are all messed up, and it slips until after 3rd gear. on the highway i got on it once and it did not slip at all. if i take off from a light, the car will keep revving and not shift, when it gets to about 3000rpm i can let off the gas and it will go into 2nd. it may have new internals but it is HORRIBLE! i can say that the TV cable is pretty bad..i am going to order a new one tomorrow, but i do not think this is the problem, i can almost guarantee he did something to the valvebody and just does not want to confess. :( where to go from here?

Maybe try a post in the Florida section to see if anyone near you can point you to a local builder.

Extreme automatic. But you could go with any site vendor and I'm sure you'll have great customer service and an awesome transmission.

I think I am going to get a valvebody for it first.

B4 you start changing valvebodies, I'd suggest you take a look at the 1 U have. It may be a case of just being assembled wrong. A replacement BRF valve body won't be cheap. The problem could be many things.. Most of which can be fixed w/o a vb replacement.

Dont think its gonna happen. Its a guy at his house.....

Makes no difference. He represents himself as a trans builder. [A business].
Ask for the $$. If he refuses:
Make no further comments. Just burn his ass down......
Call the IRS, state tax dept, the local code enforcement, the fire inspector, etc, etc... Once they get done w/ him, he won't be screwing anyone else w/ shitty work.
BTDT, and they were not happy....[This was an employer that screwed me. The IRS did the number on him.]

yea because im sure he's paying taxes on his "business" lol

I wouldnt trust this thing to miami. there is a known builder closer to me in Pompano, which i will be taking it to next week if the new TV cable doesnt fix it.

Well, i put the new tv cable in, when it is completely cold it will barely shift into 2nd.....
When it heats up forget about it. I talked to the guy in pompano and he wants 2k or more to pull it out for me
And rebuild it for the 11.50s with my own converter???? Damn

Sorry about your trans problem, been there done that. Do yourself a favor and contact any of the transmission vendors on this site to help you. They know these cars and the 2004r intimately and it will be done right. I use Extreme Automatics and they are great. Good luck.
