...to find a good, solid '86 or '87 GN or T-Type for $6,500 or so?
I'm not talking about show quality, just a good, solid running car with 80,000-110,000 miles, no rust, decent interior and paint, etc.? Hardly needs to be perfect, just respectable looking paint that would be OK for a few years. No or very little rust is a big deal to me though.
I have a neighbor who is extremely interested in my Jeep, and I think he's getting ready to jump on it. After I've gone through some of the debt I want to pay off (Small loan, 46 in Hitachi
), I'm figuring I'd be left with about $6-$6,500 left to look for a car.
It seems like most of them I've seen for sale are either basket cases, or very nice and in the $10,000 and up range
You guys think I should hold out until winter to get a better price (which would also give me a little time to save a few more $$$)? Is there a "bad season" for sellers of these cars, that I could capitalize on, lol?
Hardest thing to me seems to be finding one even remotely near Pittsburgh PA. I've been lurking the cars for sale sections of a few boards for a few months, and it just seems like Pittsburgh isn't very TR friendly, lol (Or the people around here who have them...keep them
