TR trans identification

ive got a rebuildable 200r4 out of an 87 gn(guy i got car from said it slips). what/where (valve body)do i find the numbers to make sure its the right trans for a TR? i remember a bfg/brg? code? I may sell to get it out of the shop,want to make sure its the real deal.thanks,Gary.

Trans should have a yellow tag on the right side near the tail shaft that has the code "BRF" on it.

Yes, and the valvebody will have the letter bR3 painted on the side.
