Thanks UNGN

That's what I was wondering about. I'll turn the FP down to 45 PSI and go from there. I'll start backing off the boost, too. I want to get it running good on 94 octane right now. I'll play with higher octane/higher boost after I get it runnung good in street trim. I'm still a little surprised that I got knock at 17 PSI boost with my power plate. Might have been weather related. It was pretty warm and muggy Friday night. Has anybody had their fuel injectors cleaned at Valvoline Instant Oil Change or Midas Mufflers before? Is it worth it or is it a waste of 60 bucks? I've been looking for a kit to do it myself but haven't found anybody that sells them. (for less than $400)

If you use Xylene sometimes it will clean your injectors automatically. Don't let any of those quick lube places or (my god!) a muffler shop touch your injectors. Odds are you'd get burned by those who don't have any idea about our cars. Just my .02 worth! :D

They don't actually mess with your injectors, technically. They use a Valvoline three part injector cleaner and hook it up to your fuel rail tap. They run straight injector cleaner through the rail. Then they dump some cleaner in your tank. The there is a similar procedure on the gnttype.com website. I believe it's under the spring cleaning tech area. You run the engine on cleaner instead of gas for a short period of time. It's a pressurized can of cleaner with a hose set-up. I think it's OK to do it, I just don't know how effective it is. Just looking for opinions on whether it's worth the money since I haven't had it done lately (at least not in the last 70,000 miles). I think the Buick dealer did it to my car at around 25,000 miles because I took it in to the shop because it was smelling rich when it was started. I didn't notice a difference last time, but I think the injectors were fine when they did it.

DCVING 6, looks to me like you're right on the money for first time out with an almost stock car. You're car is basically like mine and I run similar times (only been to 1/8 mile track) It ran consistant 8.8 @ 79 last time out with the stock actuator (RA chip makes it about 17 lbs). Work on the launch and get 60' times to 2.0 and you're there. I run 255 BFG's at about 24 lbs.

Like I was told after the first time out, don't be ashamed of your times. I ran 9.3's first time out and was pissed. You have a baseline for an almost stock car and now you'll see the difference a little practice and a little tuning will do.

Btw, I launch basically the same way UNGN suggests. I hold it at 0 pounds until yellow3, then nail it and let off the brake at the same time. If I go for 2 lbs, I'll spin the BFG's.
