Went to the track last night with my dad's car. We've only had it to the track once since we build the motor about a year ago. 1st time to the track we managed a 11.19@122 with a bad tune and some other new motor problems. That was about 6 months ago.

We get it off the trailer and my dad makes first pass. Easy pass we say foot brake it and watch the wide band. He managed a 11.28@119 running rich. He said he wanted me to make the next pass, so im like OK no problem! We add more boost to the car to lean on it a little. I left on the trans brake @15lbs car lifted the front tire about a foot off the ground and went a 10.96@117 letting off. The wide band sensor went bad and was giving us bad readings. So, we decided to load it on the trailer didn't want to hurt anything. The car 60ft was a 1.59. Not to good. We think the convertor is to loose, so we are going to pull it and send it in to get checked. This should be a 10.50 car when we get it dialed in.

Question for you guys....
The knock sensor is going off on the launch then it stops after the 60ft. Im thinking that the computer is pulling timing out on the launch and that's why the 60fts are not that good.

What do you think?

Just look at your DirectScan or PowerLogger data log to see how much timing it was pulling - surely you aren't trying to go that fast without one of them, are you? :-) :-) Seriously, it most likely was pulling timing but you really need one of them to data log to be sure. I don't know about other brands but if you have an Innovate wbo2 you can run their logging software at the same time as DirectScan and log both. I log tps, boost, rpm, and wbo2 with the Innovate and also run DS, the tps and rpm let me line up the wb trace with all the DS sensors (like knock and esc). Otherwise it is tough to know exactly when you launch so you can see on the wb how rich or lean you are during spoolup. Or you can log the wb signal directly with the PL. At least get one PL and mod one ecm and you can swap it back and forth between your two cars while you refine the tune in each. Not saying you can't do it the old fashioned way but it is much faster and safer with a data log.

I don't have direct scan or any other scaning tool. I use WB and a knock sensor. I need to get direct scan. Im not sure if it's pulling timing right now. Im sure that it is.

I will look to see if I can fnd some type of scan tool.

Thanks
