I am pretty sure I am getting ready to order a new tranny from one of the vendors on this board. Pretty sure I have decided which one too. I have a couple of questions maybe everyone can help with. I am going to order one just need some clarifications.
I am currently working a mainly street some strip car. With probably stock motor and a little head and intake work. Stock rearend, HNR swaybar, probably pt 61, maybe alky or small nitrous shot. And other usual upgrades.
1. To lock up or not.

2. What size stall

3. 9/11 "type" is the best?????

4. how long can I expect a "Built" tranny to last

5. Who stands behind there product the best

6. Dont trust anyone locally is shipping KILLER To NC

I have checked prices of all vendors and have really zeroed in one in particular. Can't really understand some price differences with what looks like similar products. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

all vendors on this board are reputable or they wouldnt be permitted to advertise here.shop around and youll find many different build ups and converter types for your application.there may be a local guy in your area if you check on the vendor index on the home page.with that said id use our stage 1 2004r with a 10 inch billet lockup converter that yields 3500 stall under 10 psi boost.our warrantee is 6 month s from date of purchase and shipping to nc is 2 days from our location and is right around 175.00.

You mean you don't want AAMCO to do it? Just kidding man. Any one of the vendors up here will do you right. I wish I had went that route instead of the way I went. I also recommend lock-up for better gas mileage and a few mph in the 1/4. I've heard a few bad things about the 9/11 convertor but they may have worked those issues out by now. With that turbo a stall around 32-3400 should be great. As far as the time it will last depends on how it gets treated. My last tranny just had a race 2nd gear band and a shift kit and it lasted a few years under some heavy driving. If the car hadn't sat out in a field for 9 months awaiting an engine rebuild it might have held up longer. I haven't dealt with any vendors after buying their product except for the people at PTS. I had one of Bruce's shift kits and needed help when the idiots at AAMCO couldn't figure out how to put the shift kit back in after rebuilding the tranny. I'll try and get out your way this weekend. I'll try to bring a friend with me who knows a little about these cars too. I was selling him my 85 GN at one point in time. He loves these cars too. I was going to come this past weekend but my back was a little sore and I had stayed up til almost 1 watching the UNC game Friday night then had to get up at 3 a.m. Saturday morning to go to work. Maybe we'll have good weather. I'll try to bring the GN with me.

Thanks guys,

That will be cool "LETHAL" give me a buzz.
