hey guys when i put my car in neutral it dosnt rev up the only thing i did differnt is a higher stall converter

Johnny

Is it staying in gear or are the rpm's just not increasing when you put it into Neutral from Drive?

Not quite sure what you've got going on there. Are you sure that the converter was fully engaged on the transmission prior to bolting it to the flexplate? How much clearance (pull back) did the converter have before you bolted it up?

How does the car drive? If you can't run the engine up in P or N, I wouldn't think it'd work well in drive either.

well crash called me after and after talking i realized its the converter being 3200-3400 i was not use to it

with my little 2800 that was a big increase

Johnny

thanks guys your the best

Ok, if I am reading this right, you go to neutral or park from drive or reverse and you dont notice the engine rpm increase when you do so? And you put in a larger stall converter? My though is that the converter is loose enough at your idle speed that you aren't getting a drag on the engine from the rest of the drive train to have the engine unload and increase rpm. Mark:D

P.s. does the converter come alive and function properly when you accelerate past the stall speed?
