tranny problems

my 87 gn is starting to develop a up shift problem, in low gear it will not shift up until about 4000rpm and other times it shifts up ok also i am getting a heavy shake or vibration on initial takeoff under acceleration .it seems like from the tranny as motor is fresh and all new u joints on driveshaft

any ideas here would be appreciated

I can't help with the vibration issue but the upshift problem could be the governor spring has flew off.

Happened to me. If your lucky it's still in there and you can epoxy it back on.

F.Y.I. it's just a little spring, a bit bigger than what you would find in a pen. If that makes any sense?
