I need help trans wont engage in reverse or drive.The transmission bolts worked loose while driving. what could this have damaged? when I noticed that there was a gap between motor and transmission it was making a slight winning noise. I tightened the bolts then it stared jerking like it was trying to engage but could not. Then it started whinning and stopped trying to engage all together. Checked fluid levels they were good. I haven't changed filter and fluid in a while. What could be the problem? any held would be helpful.

I'd say that the pump has broken. When teh transmission came loose the misalignment killed the pump and probably hurt the torque converter hub too.
Additionally, check the transmission bellhousing carefully for cracks when you remove the transmission. I'd be surprised if it could survive being that loose without cracking.
