Hi, posted this in the tranny section but I'am not getting any response, I need info on putting a 700r in my G.N. any help
would be appreciated, The other site must be down tonight???

Why would you want to put in a 700?? Theyre weak compared to the 200r4.The LS1 guys switch to 200r4s.Although CK does make 700 hard parts and also offers an AOD if you want to go that route.Or PTS.They seem to be the top 2 with a 200r4(PTS makes LOTS of hard parts and their pans look killer:)).

Me I went with the AOD but my drivetrain is still waiting to go in the car.:(

I have been thinking about it as I need a new trans. The benifits are a larger spline count and a higher 3.06? ratio. In my opinion this would have to lead to better acceleration (at least in 1st gear). The downside is the greater gap between 1st and 2nd gear possibly taking away acceleration due to building up boost. Just my guesses any one else with any thoughts.
 
You dont need that much 1st gear in a TR.Id think itd hurt performance more than help.
 
The 700 has a Chevy only bolt pattern and will not mate to a Buick block w/o an adapter or other means.

Thanks for the replys, I really don't want to make the swap, it's
just that you can buy a 700 in my area pretty cheap, compared
to what they want for a 2004r. Just thinking of saving a few bucks.I'm beginning to think I bought a money pit. 1st.gear great
2nd. gear great, 3rd. gear slip big time. fourth good.??????????
