Last month I really zinged the GN and it shifted perfect. The next light it started to really shifting late and not going into 4th gear. Like the TV pressure went thru the roof. Just recently I had Bruces High pressure regulator system and a new 1-2 accum spring kit installed. It shifted perfect after the install of these parts. So Bruce gave me a few pointers to investigate and heres what i found..
* pulled the pan and did not find the governer spring in the bottom of the pan like I thought I was gonna find. I pulled the governer and the spring was intact.
* looking at the TV cable bracket I noticed that the 'hairpin' clup and the long blur spring was 1/2 out (where it was sopossed to be) inbetween the tv bracket. I unbolted the tv bracket and pulled the roll pin and the regulator thinking that the TV valve was stuck. I put in a pencil magnet and found the valve seemed to be free.
* I understand that the 'hairpin' and spring holds in a ball in the VB which is there in case you break the tv cable the tv pressures go full pressure instead of low pressure by defualt.
My questions are-----
1- HOW do I put this 'hairpin' and spring back in?? Where the heck does it go?
2- could this being out be that cause of my no shift/late shift?
3- whoo and whee can I get a book on the 200 trans? So I can get this bad boy back in??
3- now it seems the tv cable has lost all it tension. The tv bracket in the trans is not even touching the tv valve rod anymore. Should it be? Is my tv cable broken?
I know these questions are hard to understand. But I hope somebody can help. Bruce fielded 5 phone calls from me today and he had helped me BIG TIME. Thanks Buddy!
