I'm getting ready to race tomorrow for the first time with new transmission. Last time I ran a 12.0@113 with a 1.68 60'. Since then I have put a fmic in, boxed control arms, bigger turbo (ta49), and a Cottons perf trans w/trans brake and 3500 Art Carr trans. Suspension has air bags, pinion snubber, and control arms. What is an achievable goal for 1/4 mile times, and 60' times. I am willing to launch as high of boost as I can get traction on. I run 26 x 10.5 slicks. Mainly I'm curious on 60' times

The short slick is going to limit your gains. With more boost you may get some improvement. At your MPH you should start Thinking about a 28 in tall slick.

No help here.
But I am curious as to what turbo you had and what boost when you ran a 12:00.
Thanks
Paul

Sorry, I actually was running the 49 turbo when I ran 12.0, but it was smoking badly at the time. I've had it rebuilt since then.

Ringman,
Seems like the converter stall speed may be a little high for your 49. You may give up a bunch of MPH with that stall. Also, with the brake you may take your motor out of its torque range a little to quickly as the conv flash rpm will be up there a bit.
I do not wish to be to negative. Every car is different. My car with a 45a, was using a 3500 stall to achieve the 60fts in my sig.
Thanks, and good luck with you new combo. Should be good for well into the 11`s if the stall is close.
Brian
