I have read here that the top transmission line going to the radiator trans cooler is the outlet. So fluid enters the rad cooler through the top line. I have also read that if using an auxilary trans cooler in conjunction with the cooler in the radiator that it should first go to the radiater then to the auxilary trans cooler. But looking at the picture that has been posted on how to connect the auxilary cooler it seems to be backwards. Can someone tell me if I am looking at this correctly and should actually reverse the way the picture shows it.

The radiator mounted cooler is important to help bring the tranny up to operating temp. Ultimately the tranny should run at 160 degrees.

Rad first then aux cooler, back to trans. Just start it up and feel which line gets warm first, then tap the other line.

I currently have the radiator out of the car so not possible to run it. Makes sense that the top line out of radiator returns fluid to transmission to keep air out of system. How to tell from the diagram SSedan64 posted if the top line coming out of the transmission is the same top line in the radiator. I will have to get under my GN and see if I can follow it.

The picture at the top is correct. Transmission fluid enters the radiator from the bottom line going into the radiator. Fluid returns to the transmission from the top line coming out of the radiator. I guessed wrong and had to switch the lines.

i dont use the rad trans cooler at all i have a cooler mounted infront of the rad never had a probleme tranny runs around 162

What are the issues for mounting the coolers? If it's mounted to the condenser, can you still put a front mount in?

I doubt it unless the new cooler is very slim. I have an RJC FMIC & it is a close fit. You may be better off with a stand alone cooler that has its own thermostatically controlled cooling fan. These coolers cost a lot more but you can just about mount them anywhere.

I mounted mine between the condenser and radiator. It is a B&M that is 1 inch think. I think the model # is 70268. I have a front mount and already had the radiator out because I was installing dual fan set-up. I am thinking it may be better for my AC since it is behind the condenser instead of in front. I will see.
