Trans won't shift to 3rd intermittent

When cruising along at highway speeds and I floor the car, the trans will not shift in to 3rd gear after dropping down to 2nd. It will hit the rev limiter or I need to lift to allow it to shift. I thought that it was a governor problem so I bought a brand new one from GM. I installed the governor and no change. The car has an old Art Carr kit installed and has done this since I have had the car. (1994) The trans was rebuilt in 97 by DelTrans in Delaware. Problem still exists. The governor was replaced last year.

I need help. This gets annoying at times...

I do not claim to be a trans expert by any means but i had the exact same problem at the same ET last year. I called Bruce and he suggested a Pressure Regulator valve kit and boost valves. When i installed them i found the stock PR valves sticking in the bore. I got the new ones in and it solved the 2-3 shift problem. BTW, i also put on a deep pan and bottom feeder. Love em

Have you solved your problem yet? I have a tranny that is doing the same intermitent 2-3 shift and I am wondering what you found.

I have not fixed the problem. I will probably take the car to a trans shop and have them look at it. The governor that I put in was a factory GM unit.

I believe the problem is in the valve body.
I will get it looked at before spring.

If you find out what the problem is, let me know.

Good Luck. I've had this problem for a few years so another month or two won't kill me...

P.S. The TV cable is adjusted correctly as well.
