Measure the TV valve lands. The small, inner valve, not the plunger. The size of the smaller land is unique to the BRF VB.

Thanks Donnie. I will check that out today and let y'all know what I find. Thanks for the help.

It's been awhile since I've been into a Transgo Shift Kit, but IIRC, I think they have you change the 2-3 shift spring. Check that out, carefully.

Donnie, i didn't get a chance to look at the valvebody yesterday so I will be Monday. Looking at the instructions for the TG shift kit, the 1-2 shift valve assembly gets a small tight wound spring onto the low valve, the accumulator valve gets a new red spring, the line bias valve gets a new white spring(it was missing when I first went into the valvebody) and then finally a new red spring that goes behind the TV bushing/plunger. Along with the servo mods and spacer plate holes of course.

If you need some help to determine if the springs are original or not, note the wire diameter, overall free length, and number of coils, and I'll compare your specs to my new out of the box, never used, virgin BRF VB I keep in the shop for referencing. First, figure out if the VB is truly a BRF VB.

Today I installed a 2-3 shift valve assembly from my BRF trans into this car. The car now shifts at 5050 rpm into 3rd. The valve assembly that was in the car was totally different. The spring was longer but not very stiff and the valve had different size lands on it. Now I just need to find one to replace the one I gave away. Anyone have an extra?
