I currently have my trans apart due to the clutch material on the converter coming off ( not sure how that happened ). Everything looks ok but I would like to make some changes while its out . The trans was built back in 99 by someone I was told at the time was good with GN transmissions. Mine didnt have the correct valve body and after a few tries at using the one in the car I was finally able to convince him to put the correct one in ( I bought and delivered it to him ) .
Now that I have the trans apart I am not happy with what I am finding . It was supposed to have a 10 vane pump and doesnt, and the one accumulator piston is now 2 nuts and a washer.
Is the lack of accumulator piston hurting anything?
I will be removing the Superior super servo due to harsh 3-2 downshift .
The valve body kit is Transgo 2004r-2-3 . I want to remove that but am reading about the drilling that may have been done . Is it just the spacer plate that would have been drilled or the valve body itself ? What measurements would I need to check to see ?
