Donnie, your stuff goes out on Monday.

The Pro can live in the glove compartment, that's where mine is.

The installation is very easy. There really isn't a need for a plug-and-play setup.

Mike just installed a 4" inlet PT61 in his new T-Type and it makes insane power, I'll let him post his results.

Bob

Here is the new setup. GT6131 w/ 4" inlet (PTE), 60lb Mototron's, TH 3" pipe, 2 3/4 dual stainless exhaust w/ Magnaflow mufflers, 70mm tb & pte upper with power plate, PTE stock location intercooler, 4" mass air pipe NO maf sensor. STOCK converter. Decided to just drive the car to see how much converter we needed and frankly with the boost control set up in the Pro and the big pipes with lots of flow I just don't need any more stall, it does not drive a lot different than the stock turbo until you get on it when it just turns the little 215 tires to liquid at will at any speed up to about 35MPH. You need to be going over 40 before you hit the gas or we get instant tire smoke. My 235 drag radials (TFS legal) are on order

Anytime you remove the MAF you gain HP, the pro has many cool features.

So it is a good upgrade at almost any power level.

It is not, however, a 'beginners' type gadget. How comfortable are you with tuning tools?

Bob

I have a question with this system. Do you have to start with a base Buick program and change everything or is it possible to start off with the current tune from a extender chip. How can it be done and what would the extra cost be ? I like tuning and tinkering but cant see going back to square one with this new device when the car runs so good with the T+ and chip....

Just wondering....

Do we have to run a special computer chip, or would we be able to continue using our existing chip?

BW

Bob,

Right now I have an ATR gate (one that I got in a package deal), but with the money I'd save not having to buy an Innovative boost controller I could get a different one. I haven't even run the ATR gate yet. Would it work with this?

As for beginners using it, couldn't you "burn" a basic tune based on mods and then use the wideband to adjust fuel? On that note, how fast does the wideband adjust to correct? Same idea as FAST, kinda? So far looks real promising...

I can email you the program that I use, its not perfect because I've been too busy with other stuff to optimize it. Suffice it to say it runs pretty well. I never tuned the WOT, since I just set it to use the wideband....

No cost for the file.

It will run fine with any chip.

The "Extender Pro" will have some specific features that are tailored to the Translator Pro. The new chip is in the testing phase. It will be available soon.

(very soon.....)

ATR gate will work fine, sometimes they can get "sticky", so watch for that.

The response time of the wideband is fully adjustable, checkout the screenshot that is posted on fullthrottletech.com

The basic tune is already in there, its enough to have a decent tune with just a little tweaking. If you have a wideband on there then it gets really easy.

That's awesome!!!

I'm really curious to find how fast spool up will be with my new combo in my sig. Fully ported and polished irons, 210/210 roller cam and valve train, Vigilante with the "6" pump and CPT70 Ptrim with .82ar. Mikes' set up makes it look very promising! :D

You guys are making me want to spend more money

I am a little slow with the new stuff here. I read the site.

So basically, if i purchased this new setup, i could sell my BSTC, sell my stock maf and run NO maf setup and then run my TT chip with the new controller setup in the Speed Density Mode????

I am confused.

I want to delete my BSTC, delete any type of maf and run my TT chip because its running so good with this setup on meth.

I am purchasing a meth kit from julio, will this 5 bar map sensor work with his kit? Does it come with the 399.00 setup?

Thank you for the reply

I'm good with technology and would be able to tune my car after a fairly quick learning curve. I'm still a little confused about the unit. What if I change my mods on the car, do I need a different chip and then tune with the Extender Pro from there?? Will there be some type of "Universal" chip offered in the future that has a baseline that can be built off of?

Bob,
Thanks for the reply. Your info made my decision much easier.

Yes, mine came today to. I need to wait until I get my Extender chip to install it but it should be fun. My spool has been a little doggy lately so hopefully this really brightens things up.

Installed mine last night and fired it up. Speed Density, the car has never idled smoother and it was pretty smooth already. Didn't have time to take it for a spin but will later today. This thing is very cool, and the screen is backlit too :). There's alot to learn though, this could be overwhelming for the novice. I concider myself very experienced and I'm scratching head my over some of this stuff, but if you like a challange and don't mind asking questions this is the way to go. Everything is very well done, great job guys!!!

We just some of the 2 3/4 aluminized systems in. I don't think we will see stainless anymore, no one wants to bend this size. I also got some 3" singles

This is not a beginner tool but I think you will find it pretty easy after you go through it a couple times. The good news is that the Buick version has been driven a lot and is worked out pretty well so the base map works very well as you found out. I made very minor changes to my new set up it took all of 10 minutes to do. Let us know if you need any more help
