I just installed my newly aquired Translater and 3" LS1 maf. All I get is about a 2 second fast idle start then the car dies. Am I missing something here?
My settings are

1 6cyl
2 gn
3 no limiter
4 not used

and I have tried all of the the settings on the first dial.

Any Idea's?

Make sure you reset the ecm to clear the old blm's.

Also, (even though this has nothing to do with your problem), make sure you turn the limiter on (dip 3). That makes sure you don't overrun the ecm with a maf reading higher than 255.

Eric

You need to set switch '3' to 'limiter'. You use 'no limiter' if you are using an Extender chip.

Are you using an Extender chip with anti-theft?

Is the unit plugged in correctly?
(there have been a couple guys plug them in backwards....)

LS1 MAF is 3.5", exactly which MAF do you have?

Bob

LT-1.....not LS-1...sorry.....3"
It is a GN-6 Model Translator that I think only hooks one way. All the clips clipped into each other correctly as OEM. As a test I took the MAF off the car and just ran the translator. Would not idle even with the MAF off the car....It seems to run off of the injector prime then die.

It is a Caspers 93 street chip but I did swap my old no name chip and it made no differance.

<Which chip are you using? I see Cotton's in your signature.>

I guess I need new glasses...you had Casper's in your sig., not Cotton. :) Have you put switch '3' on 'limiter' and see how it runs?

i Wanted to see if you were paying attention :) Actually I corrected my sig. I got the chip from Jack but it is a caspers. I tried the #3 dip switch in both positions with no differance. I am thinking I just have a bad translator.........

I feel better knowing I was correct the first time. :) I see you live in Raleigh...I live in Mebane, just east of Burlington.
