My transmission has been whining in my GS on acceleration through first gear for a while now. Lately (past 2-3 months), I hear a noise at idle that I cant really explain. Almost like a knocking consistent with RPM, but not really. It definitely is coming from the trans and not the engine. As soon as I put it into drive it goes away. Trans shift awesome and fluid is at correct level and good color (change it every 20K). Car has 108k on it now and I drive it about 400 miles a week now. Wanted to see if anyone has had an issue like this before and is it something I should worry about. Any input appreciated.

Dave Norris is a member on here (trannyman95 I believe) and owns triple edge performance , he is a 4t65e guru and has a very good diagnostics page on his website , just click on the problems tab on the top and then choose from the dropdown list whining noises ,clunks ,shuddering ,etc.. to get some insight.

I just referred a guy that bought a used trans from me to him to buy new solenoids before installing it and he said the info he got along with the parts was fabulous so dont be afraid to drop him an e mail he still seems small enough to take the time

Thanks for the link. Sounds like its "the roller bearing that that the drive and driven sprockets which the drive chain rides on."

I sent them an email to ask a few questions. Its just weird that it sbeen doing this since about 75k miles and the trans still shifts nice and firm, no issues at all. Wish I was closer to them, that would be great when its time for a rebuild.
