still new here and to tb's in general. i searched and did some reading but wanted to see if there is any new info out there on this problem.

the car [86 GN] mostly stock takes off fine from the line. as the boost build it starts to break the tires loose. as the rpm's climb there seems to be an exponential power loss through the tranny until you reach the end of first gear where the car just slams the rev limiter instead of clicking into second gear. in addition every single up-shift [1-2 being the worst] seems slow and slushy. in contrast, it downshifts quite hard.

from my reading here is looks like i need to test the line pressure. how do i do that? how much of a change will and aftermarket valve body make? is the Monte SS governer more a fix than the valve body?

i need this thing to shift right. what is scarier is it seems some people here bought new/rebuilt transmissions and are experiencing the same thing. help me out! i can't enjoy the car like this...

thanks guys!

sorry for the double post... my computer works as well as my GN's transmission. =/

i can't delete it either...

install a gage on the line pressure port above the shift linkage located on the drivers side .gage must read between 80 and 300.
