that was in cash? right?
What was the payout for each place?

1st was $230 cash $470 in certs
2nd was $100 cash and $300 in certs

again vendors want winners to spend $$$ with them and not with a competitive vendor. do we ask for cash yes...but vendors want $$ going back to them

Didn't one of the guys in the class put up $500 cash ? Not a vendor just a racer .

Point is that part of the payout didn't take anything away from any of the other classes .

but we paid out for a 8 car field...just saying that participation controls payouts,,,and Vendors /Donors see that....This is Buicks not NHRA,,,there are a limited amount of vendors that are willing to contribute to all events..and some pick and choose...

The BPG is non profit...I am not going to divulge the vendors as if I do they may stop sponsoring any Buick Event. We paid out for a full 8 car field I had many a conversation with Cal in regards to How much the BPG had in donors and BPG funds which was $1800. Cal set up the payout structure. Mt statement did not say we would not do payouts...but reconsider the payouts to those classes...The point being is the last time TSO had a full field I believe was in Salem in 2005 (if my memory serves me) So all I am asking is how do we make the racing more competitive can TSO and TSM be combined...or run TSO and TSM but also a heads up V6 Turbo class.

Sean, being involved in this stuff for years, I suggest the BPG decides what they want to do with the classes. TSO is dead and TSM is dead, the statistics prove this. The event organizers realize this as well as the sponsors and need and stop asking the racers what to do because bad payouts was the reason a few years ago, rule issues was the other, the car was broke was the next and the bottom line is attendance is down and it isn't getting better. The spectators expect to see better racing and more than three car fields or they won't come back. I commend your efforts here and it is a shame that some choose to insult you and whine about payouts in the end. I remember when Chris Lyons was put through the wringer about $$ when all he did was bring sponsors into the class and the next year he showed everybody what he did for us by giving up (I don't blame him). I hate to see this happen to the BPG, but at some point enough is enough. See how great it gets when they have one less place to race.

My question has nothing to do with BPG,The PAY OUT, Cal or Salem .

I simply asked you Who are the vendors that are tired of donating?

as i replied in your post ."I am not going to divulge the vendors as if I do they may stop sponsoring any Buick Event."

Purse was to my knowledge the largest without question the BPG has ever had at any of their events. I dare say it was the biggest Buick purse ever besides GSCA Nats in Columbus in 1999 bc I believe they had Budwesier money. Every single TR /V8 vendor was represented via on site to buy/sell parts or donated items/gift certificates to the winners of respected classes. When was the last time you saw Precision Turbo and Engine show up at a Buick Event AND DONATE to the class??

Trust me I worked a year on getting everyone there, and i have not gotten one single complaint from anyone who raced at the event and won a class about the gift certificates or prize money that they received while at the event. If they do they contact me on here. Also take into consideration most vendors want the $$ money to come back to them so thats why they offer gift certificates. A few people and vendors donated cash which was great! But that is not the majority! Community is small and therefore we just dont get the $ flowing in like other make/model events ie Pontiac, Mopar, etc

I say if two cars show up for a class let them run . If the payout is not there thats ok as long as everyone knows ahead of time what the minum car count/payout is ahead of the race .
