Is it still possible to get a replacement VSS sensor? I see older threads referencing GP Sorensen #7799505, but it seems that does not exist anymore. I'd even go for a working used one. This is for a cluster conversion project so I can feed the correct signal to a TBI F body dual output magnetic VSS buffer.

Thanks!

I got a speed sensor from "jags that run" and it has been working fine for over a year now

I am not 100% sure on this, but I think you could use a VSS from a 1990 Cadillac Brougham with 5.0 (Olds 307) engine. Those had a 200-4r AND a digital gauge cluster. The 5.7 (Chevy 350) Brougham had a 700-r4, so I don't know if that would use the same VSS.

The 700-R4 won't fit unfortunately. I'll look at the part # for the Caddy. Thanks!

Here is what the caddy calls for. Will this work? Looks like even if I have to fabricate something off the cable it will work.

So that one is not even close. Next try is this one:

This was an alternate for the Caddy, but the standard on the 1990 Skylark with 2.5, along with a pile of other '90-91 J bodies. Stay tuned folks.

Only thing on mine is that even though it looked all the same for length, the o ring popped in place a little deeper, so I notched the sensor a little further out (the plastic part) for the piece that holds it in place and it works perfect like that. Just did a 250 mile roadtrip.
