You wouldn't want to see the trucker chicks naked that are at the truck stop up the road from my work. :yuck:

I think you misunderstand that setting. It's used to get away from them which is why the car is faster!!(y)

Yes, all of these cars are different, But I can tell you something is strange because 20-21psi is a lot of boost for 93 octane. That limit should be around 18-19 with an excellent tune for it... and thats on the high side. of course there are people that claim that they could run more on 93 oct. but I have had 5 of these cars and not one could run near that without knocking. The old reds chips used to drown the car out with fuel, but it had its limits. Hacked 50#Thrasher chip was the only chip I could run 18psi on with 93 octane. That was with an excellent tune and power plate.
Post up a PL file

I'll try to post the logs up but I was getting a uploading error when doing so, I'll give it another try. Thanks, Kyle.

Well I tried to upload the PL files but I am getting the same error " there was a problem uploading your files " message  what am I doing wrong. I click on the Upload a File, I left click on a PL file, then I left click open. What am I missing ?:banghead:

Yes, I'm one of those guys that can actually do 21# of boost on straight 93 octane. It's not that hard with the right kind of equipment and the right tune. The only chips I run are Bob Bailey, or Eric Marshal chips. A VERY good front mount IC. Ya, Ya, I know, there's lot's of people that "claim" that a front mount isn't much better than a good quality SLIC. My response to that is "bunk".

Not sure, but you mentioned compressing the file in an earlier post. The PL files I've seen posted here are in .dat format. I just uploaded one that I have local and it worked (then deleted it).

P.S. another one running 22+ psi on Sunoco 93 Ultra pump gas...

You guys cars must be in tip top shape!! Those are excellent numbers based on the WB and NB at that boost level. Good job continuing to push the boundary. I'm just too afraid to chance anything. :cautious:

Ditto!

I may be able to run close to that but I also am too scuuuuurd to run it daily :chicken:

I have tuned my street setup at 17-18psi on 93 and the car is ok there....good enough for mid 11's

I am content with that for now...I have spent too many years under the hood due to trying to run too much boost (not knowing what the hell I was doing also) on pump gas.

Kudos to you guys that can and do!

Happy spooling!:woot:

Well I hope I did this right, here's the PL logs from last weekend. As you can see the first log was a bit lean so I added 15.6% more fuel which seemed to do the trick. What do you guy's think ? By looking at the injector duty cycle it looks like I am out of injector, correct ? Thanks for taking a look, Kyle.

Yes, the engine is out of injector. The AFR is OK with the boost and SA, but the injectors are full on. Be sure to check the fuel pressure rise for 1:1 before going further.

As for your question about how you can run this much boost on 93 pump gas, looking at logfile2, the SA in 3rd is 18* BTDC. Adding octane or alky and that can be increased for more power (to a limit).

As I look at the fuel pressure it seems that at times, during the run, its a pound or two off of being 1:1 with the static fuel pressure being set at 43lbs line off. Is this normal ? Also last year I was only able to run 17-18lbs of boost, I made absolutely no boost adjustments since last year and now boost levels are up to 20lbs. I checked to see if the waste gate puck moves freely and it does. Do ambient temps affect boost levels that much ? Thanks, Kyle.

Yes, clean air makes a bit more boost but a proper controller should regulate it the same. I have the issue you have.

80's, same price and you can still use stock injector drivers.

What do you do to control your issue ?
I would get the 80's but I have a set of 60's already. They should be enough correct ?
Thanks for your reply, Kyle.

I don't really worry about what my boost ends up being; the alky is progressive and my extender chip reads airflow @ wot, so I just let 'er rip. And yes the 60's should be enough. If you go more boost, go alky. You may run out of injector @ 25psi without alky and just race gas.

Yeah I think I am going to keep the boost as is and play with the timing some while the weather is in the 70's. Then retune in the warmer months to see how it affects my car. I'll be sure to post my results.
