I have a 10 year old, hardly used Precision PT70 turbo w/4 bolt tangiental exhaust housing. I want to switch to a 63 3bolt housing and can't remember if it is p or q trim? I assume P trim but is there a diff. in the exhaust housing. If any one can help, please advise. Also want to buy a housing or trade my .82 (?) 4 bolt for a 3 bolt. Thanks, Howard.

Hey Howard
It would be easy if you could measure the small diameter (exducer) of the wheel.. Even if you used a tape measure we might be able to tell. You will need to remove the exhaust housing to do this and after 10 years......ugh
it might need some TLC so you do not damage the turbo.

Post a pic of the turbine outlet. We can tell what trim it is if you do. Soak the whole hot side in a bath of WD40 for a day to make removing the exhaust housing easier.

The housing came off easily as the turbo sat on the shelf for 7 years. I'll try to post a pic of the turbine wheel. The main question is, I need a .63 housing, does it matter if the trim is P or Q trim as far as the exhaust housing is concerned? From some pics I've seen, it looks like P trim.

It will be easier if it is a p-trim because the wheels are all about the same contour. On the other hand there are several diff Q-trim match it up wheels and we would need the turbo to match it up correctly.
