The 200-4R is approximately the same weight as a TH400 overall.
HP consumption difference is minimal and is usually misunderstood and exaggerated by all the internet experts that have never rebuilt a trans or even thought about the physic involved.

I know this isn't what you asked BUT try and find someone that has a 400 in a Buick and DRIVE the car around for a while I have one here .. mid/low 11 street car .... If it were mine I'd burn it to the ground

If you want an all out race car, 400 is probably best overall way to go $$ wise and all. I would have to agree with Dan though, if a street car NO WAY!
I would build the 200 if it's street/strip car in the 11's. I had a built 200 in my faster car with a transbrake. Car ran 10.30's. I removed it and installed a 400 w/brake. Car runs faster but I really do miss OD for the ocassional run to the store but it's more race than street car. You will miss OD!
Well,I just bought back my old 400 out of my BBC Chevelle.I added a JW Ultrabell had it rebuilt, its a reverse manual with transbrake and the good red Alto clutches.I sold it to a friend and he never installed it,so I bought it back this past weekend. Its just giving me ideas looking at it.I may just save it for the new motor.I think I would miss the OD.
