Turbo Buick swap into a 80 Turbo Trans AM

Hey Guys I am new here and seeking some advice for the Buick turbo pro's..

I am looking for a replacement for my 301 turbo in my 80 WS6 trans am.
I was looking at pontiac 400/455 chevy small blocks as I actually prefer small blocks to big blocks especially with the gas prices. So in my searches I stumbled across a rebuilt T - Type drivetrain complete with headers and TH350 for $1800/best..

I always liked the GN's and know their legendary performance. Also it would keep my Trans Am a turbo car and I know the 89 Turbo Trans am was one of the fastest production Trans AMs!
So my question is how easy of a swap do you think this would be. Is the buicks turbo on the same side so my turbo hood would work? Would the transmission line up with my rear end?

I would repost in the "Hybrids" section of the board, it's a section for this sort of question. If you do the transplant, go with a intercooled Buick Swap 86/87 drivetrain. Good luck and welcome to the website!!!

A T type engine with a turbo 350 trans? Sounds like an early draw through engine. Is it SFI or carb turbo?
