Turbo to downpipe bolts

What style of bolts are you guys using. I tried stainless Allan head and had to cut them off.

I use stainless allan bolts, and learned a couple things about DP bolts.

First, use a high temp anti-seize, like 2500 deg stuff.

Second, do not install them very tight. I would rather a bolt come out on its own over time, rather than breaking the damn thing in the housing,

Experienced the same issue as nick described. I don't bother with SS on the DP.

For future reference, if the car runs, and you are about to remove the downpipe, let the car run for a couple minutes. This will aid in the removal of the bolts. If the car does not run and the bolts seem stuck, use a small torch around the bolt holes on the turbo housing. Always use anti-seize on these bolts.

I used steel set screws and ordered ARP 12 point nuts and loc washers. Works great. Def want to put HIGH TEMP never seize on for sure.

Don't use Stainless on the DP bolts ... that's a no no.

Allen is fine but I like studs . .. grade 3 steel is plenty .. no need to be Hercules with these .. bit of antiseize an your good

Been running stainless bolts/anti-seize on my DP forever. Get a little heat in there and they always come right out.

As Warp6 said let the car warm up. It's amazing how easy they come out. Don't use button head screws. The wrench fitment is about 1/2 of a regular Allen head. Hi temp never seize. Stainless is ok unless you go along period of time between removing them. Dissimilar metal corrosion occurs and they will be much more difficult to remove.
