Hey fellas...

Just fired up the GN to pick my twin brother up from the airport (coming home from the Army....his car). Took the car on a lot of test runs and everything was great until today. I got off the exit and got gas, then went to take off. I noticed the gas was hard to push about 1/2 throttle or so, and the trans. wouldn't shift. I can kinda get the tranny to shift up by by bumping the throttle, but when I slow down it downshifts all 3 gears very fast. I know I need to replace the TCC solenoid which we planned on doing tommorow.

The tranny was supposedly rebuilt by the previous owner (billet, blah blah). The fluid is good, maybe a little too full if anything, smells slightly burnt but not bad at all and is good and clean. The tranny always shifted good and hard before and I have never messed with the TV cable.

Anyone have any ideas so we can get this back on track in a timely fashion as he is only home for two more weeks

I think your problems are more than the tV cable setting.

Where its mounted about 4" back of the throttle body is a black plastic mounted in the bracket and a square plastic that slides in and out.
Take note of how far out it is use a ruler in hundredths of a inch or 64ths

Push the brass button on the side in and push the cable all the way back. Then open the throttle all the way this will reset the TV cable. This is not necessarily the best position for your trans, but its the factory starting point.
If the shifts are early push the button and move the TV cable towards the firewall one click at a time
If the shifts are late move the cable towards the radiator.
Too much either way will hurt the trans
Best to find a 200 4R trans shop and have them check it out.

Sounds like a binding TV cable, may have frayed wire binding in TV cable casing/housing or TV/ThrottleValve binding in trans ValveBody.

I was thinking on a binding cable too...the throttle is hard to push, and the tv cable is very hard to pull by hand. I've never changed one though...Time to learn.
