Help! help! My tranny in my 87 gn is bad so I bought a suppose to be buil 200r4 I pull the tranny the weekend putting the rebuild 1 in this weekend to make a long story short I put them side by side the 1 that I pulled out on the housing where the 2 top bolts go (left bolt and right bolt) the housing looks like it has dip between the to bolt holes kind of like you would draw a smile ) my new 1 dosent have that cut out it just goes stright across any help would be appricated

Sounds like one is the universal case and the other the bop case.
 
meanbuick the 2nd site u sent me look just like the 1 i took out is that the universal 1 just curious.so in all it should fit? are the inner working still the same for a bop or are they diffrent for a gm withe a universal housing

The "Hotrodders" Pic is the BOP case has 6 mounting holes.
The Uni case has 10 mounting holes for Chevy/Buick/Olds/Pontiac & Caddy engines, Pic below.
The GN Tran's Valvebody, Servo & Pr. Reg., Boost Valves, etc.. in Pump are higher performance parts.

What's the chances that the servo valve body from a gn would be in a universal body thae tranny was build by lee thomas so I'm hoping it has all the good suff from the gn I bought it from a guy that never installed it
